Datsuns, with Bling!!

Two days ago I wrote a post on a Twin Engined Golf, and yesterday I wrote about Mini's on Show and today I am writing on some Datsuns I saw at the same small car show!!

The blue car is a Datsun 1200 GX Coupe, as you can see on the sign on the second photo. These cars were sporty little cars when they came out, they had twin SU carburetors and the engine gave 62kW, which is quite decent power for a 1200cc engine of the time.

The owner of this car really put in a lot of effort to beautify the engine bay of this car!! There is not even a spec of dust on that engine.

The next car is a Datsun Bakkie (truck), I am not sure if it is a 1200 or 1400, as they were available in both engine sizes. These little bakkies were very popular here in South Africa.

The engine of this particular one is modified, with a pair of big side draft carburetors, feeding it with petrol!! These bakkies only came out with single carburetors, but a lot of them were modified, by their car mad owners!!

These old cars also had a lot of character, I think a lot more than the Nissans they were replaced with.

I hope you enjoyed the post as much as I enjoyed writing it.

The photos, were taken by me, with my iPhone, at my brother's house, in Pretoria, South Africa.

Cheers~

That is nice, these cars are also becoming scarce!!

Great review @rynow and these cars are a real classic!

Yes, they are classic and becoming more scarce these days!!

I think the blue datsuns is very much effective in small car racing, and the owner take care of it very carefully even no dust particle in engine chamber and its surroundings.
