DIY Radiator Replacement GMC Sierra 1500 or Chevy Silverado 1500

If you have noticed a slow coolant leak in your 1999-2004 GMC Sierra 1500 or Chevy Silverado it may be a hairline crack in the plastic reservoir sides of your radiator. If so, it will get worse over time until you notice significant coolant leaking. This is what happened to me.

If you are even a little bit mechanically inclined, however and are a DIYer, replacing the cracked radiator with a new one is relatively easy. You may, however be a little bit confused by all the hoses that connect to the radiator. This video will explain what they are and now to disconnect and reconnect them to your new radiator.

By replacing it yourself you will save hundreds of $$. A new radiator can be purchased for less than $100. You can have the job done in less than two hours.
