Calling all gearheads/petrolheads

contestlogo13.jpg

I love cars, and I know there are several car lovers here on Steemit, so I wanted to create a contest for my fellow car enthusiasts!

This being the first week of the contest I wanted to do something different. I want to get to know the other gearheads out there, so all you have to do is comment what made you fall in love with cars and upvote this post. That's it!

I will pick a winner by using a random number generator, so if 10 people comment and the number that is generated is 4 the 4th person to comment on the post wins, so make sure to comment on the post and not a comment, also comments not related to the contest will not count, so those pesky bots will be overlooked. I will announce the winner shortly after this post closes. The winner will get half the SBDs that this post generates! The rules are simple, upvote and comment. You do not have to resteem, but if you want to spread the word about the contest feel free to do so!

Also if you're a car nut like me feel free to follow, I do a lot of posts about cars, plus you'll be the first to know about future contests.

What made me fall in love with cars is the design. We came from cars that looked like cubes with 4 wheels to something thats aerodynamic and with so many differents variants that there has to be one that you like.

I always wanted to design cars, but its more than just appearance. Its crazy at the amount of work that goes into a design, or redesign of a car.

Totally agree. The amount of work can be insane. I very recently saw a documentation of how the new Bugatti Chiron was designed and manufactured. Seeing it impressed the **** outta me :D . I'd give you the link but unfortunately the documentation is german (like the best cars ayy)

Thats a nice car! I believe they only build one of those for every 10 or so of the 86.

I don't have anything special currently. Dodge Durango and 87 Chevy Silverado.

I seem to be winning at the moment.

Uh oh man you got some competition now lol

Driving has never been a chore for me, I have always enjoyed it, but it wasn't until getting a Mk4 Golf when I was 22 that I really started to love cars. Looking back, that car was not good, but it felt good, and I suppose to VW and their buyers, that was all that mattered.

Driving home from buying the car, the sun started to set and I put the lights on. The dashboard lit up blue. I had only ever seen green or orange dashboard illumination before this, so it was a shock! I don't know why, but that really made me love the Golf. I started reading tuning magazines and eventually made some mods to the car.

A few years later I got to drive a Gallardo, and while it was certainly a fun experience, I would actually rank seeing the blue dash lights in the Golf as being a more impactful moment.

The thing about cars is if you love the car nothing else matters, it could leave you stranded in the middle of nowhere, but you will repair it no matter what anyone else says. Nice! I bet that was amazing.

Great post , thank you

I love cars because in a world full of a million stupid rules imposed on all of us by these clueless wannabe dickheads with a tin badge, as they constantly tell us "you are free". To me a car give you just a little bit of freedom to come and go as you please. Cheers.

That's true! When I'm driving, all the nonsense fades.

I am just a girl that loves cars. Greatly influenced by my Dad and Uncle. Dad took me with him to drive back his AC Bristol whenI was just a kid. My Uncle loved old Mercury's and corvettes. Don't ask me what is under the hood I was just in awe of their speed and looks. 🐓🐓

Nice! I had an uncle with a Mercury Cougar XR7, it was beautiful. I've actually been going through old photos of cars that my dad and uncles had, so many amazing cars. I may do a post on them.

Awe! That would be cool. I'll look for it! 🐓🐓
