Yet another article brought to you by: http://www.allerleidesign.nl
A lot of mods adopt the style of the moment, these last few years it has been Modernism that has dictated the modding world. Straight tight lines combined with geometric shapes are seen in nearly every mod that is being made these days. Because nearly everyone uses these same styles it happens that mods start to look similar. The mod about which this article is written breaks with that style and goes in a completely different direction, perhaps it is because of this that a lot of people feel drawn to it.
This article is about the "Flower Gold" made by Suchao Modding & Design.
Content:
In an earlier article, I wrote about another mod made by Suchao Modding & Design namely the "AMD Barret" , a marvelous mod which has crossed the world and has been received everywhere with awe and amazement because of the visual power that radiated from this mod. The fact that the mod was styled like a rifle helped as well I think..
This "Flower Gold" goes so far into another direction in terms of style that it almost seems like it was made by someone else. And partially it was, this mod has been designed by Maturos Charoensit, a vital part of the team that is Suchao Modding & Design. A lot of people already know about her, since she was the one that seemed so small while she posed with the AMD Barret.
This mod follows the style of nature, the beauty of controlled chaos. Straight lines are hardly ever seen in nature and a color scheme of only 2 or 3 colors isn't either. In the places where this couldn't be avoided in this mod, these shapes were made as inconspicuous as possible. The tight straight lines of the water cooling loop have been made into a matte black so these do not draw the attention away from the gold in which the details are made.
A lot of people who reacted to the posts on Facebook which were made about this "Flower Gold" said it might have been better if this mod had a solid color scheme, instead of the sporadic dashes of color which this mod has now. I am of the opinion that it is these small colorful details, like the blue butterflies and the red accents, that make me associate this mod with nature instead of with an antique piece of furniture.
The big eye catcher in this mod is the front of the case, on this front, a very nicely made bouquet of wild flowers and leaves has been created in golden colors with above this a few blue butterflies flapping their wings. The amount of detail in this marvelous piece of art is overwhelming, it almost seems as if real flowers were covered in gold and then stuck to this front side. Besides this impressive display of details, the front side has a background of standard matte black which causes the colored details to be enhanced by lots.
The open side is an artwork in itself in which the somewhat limited amount of space of the Thermaltake Core G3 has been optimally used. The use of the 2 reservoirs and flowmeters make the inside feel very crowded, this feeling is enhanced by the use of matte black on nearly every piece of hardware, the detail work is found in the top and bottom of this side where the flowers and butterflies come back in a very subtle way. The use of golden swashes to depict the Thermaltake products is very fitting and shows a craftsmanship that does not limit itself to just computer hardware but also goes on into the details and combining of elements to create a beautiful whole.
As soon as the computer is turned on Nature comes to life in this mod, the memory and processor cooler light up in a bright white which makes you feel as if you're looking at the sun rays which beam between the trees in the dense woods. The red accents that light up here and there remind of the wild flowers that bloom only during the day to show off their vibrant colors..
Because this "Flower Gold" breaks so far with the current standard of mod styles I see come by these days, this mod takes a place very high on my list of personal favorites. Especially seeing the magnificent way that this has been achieved is reason enough for me to want to keep looking at it. The craftsmanship that screams out in the subtle details of the design and execution ensures that Suchao Modding & Design also went up a lot of steps towards the top of my personal favorites among the Modders.
