One of the palaces of the nobility of Baden-Württemberg that populate the Swabian Alps, stands powerful over the valley of the Echaz River. Its style is eclectic with Gothic reminiscences, inspired by the novel "Lichtenstein", by Wilhelm Hauff, its construction is due to William I of Urach between 1839 and 1842 and is located on the remains of an ancient medieval fortress.
