Visiting the Santa Maria Cathedral in Naples

There were many Cathedrals that we visited during our holidays to Italy and each one of them left us in awe. We would think that enough of visiting Cathedrals, but then once we would step in, we would be left speechless. The design, architecture, grandeur of each one of them are fantastic. Each one of them is a beauty. These are all 100s of years old and it really amazes how grand things were built in those times. Today the focus is different, we make tall structures, mostly all of glass. But in those times, Marbles and Stones were largely used and they are still so well preserved. I wonder in another 500 years time, what is built today may not be seen, but we will still see these structures.

This Cathedral of Naples, Santa Maria is a Roman Catholic Cathedral. It's construction was completed somewhere in the 14th century. It is also the seat of the Archbishop of Naples. We had a day in Naples and the first thing we started was with visiting this Cathedral.

That's the main Altar in the Cathedral
