Apparently there isn't a consensus on this, some people say Apple, some say Walmart, but probably there are a few banks with more assets, and the petroleum companies are also huge.
Now to me the largest corporation, ok maybe not corporation, but organization would have to be the catholic church. They have huge assets just in works of art, they have huge streams of money, I'm not talking only investments here, I'm also talking about all the momney they receive weekly from contributions.
But their greatest value has to be their real estate holdings, just think they were sure to build their churches exactly in the city center, the choicest real estate, and they have this probably in at least 50% of all cities and towns in the world.
Now they do have a lot of expenses, they have over 400,000 priests, and also hundreds of thousands of nuns and monks, all of these people receive stipends. The church also does have a lot of charities so their expenses are enormous.
But I really think they are the richest organization in the world. I am just giving this as my point of view I have no particular thoughts about it, but I would really like to know if I am right, does anyone have numbers that would agree or contradict with this?
If their not, they certainly can't be far behind.
