Five Talkative Cat Breeds

in cats •  7 years ago  (edited)

I had shared this on my old account. Personally, I prefer a cat that is either more quiet or only moderately chatty, at best. Some people, though, want a feline that is vocal. It's like they're carrying on a conversation together. If you're that type, then, the following five breeds of kitties might just be the ones for you. Cats are all individuals with their own quirks & personalities. Even the more vocal ones can vary in how much they chatter.

Siamese

Many of you might be aware that Siamese like to speak their mind. Alot. The Siamese is one of the most widely recognized breeds for its unique markings, but also because of how outgoing they are. They are very intelligent & social cats. They do like attention. We have a Lynxpoint & he's more average with his meowing. He needed to be rehomed & we were glad to take him in. He can be loud & long if he gets stressed, though.

Sphynx

They may look a bit strange (not having any fur), but, they do actually have down. Which is quite soft. They are very energetic & extroverted cats. Although they might not look cuddly they are very affectionate. Their meows can be demanding at times.

Oriental Shorthair

The Oriental Shorthair is very similar to the Siamese, except that it comes in a variety of different coat colors & patterns. Like the Siamese, however, they are very bright & athletic cats. They like to be around other cats & people.

Burmese

The Burmese is another cat that originated in Asia but was developed in Great Britain & the United States. They are noted for being very people-oriented. Maintaining their kitten-like playfulness well into adulthood. These cats will let you know what is on their minds with their voices as well as their actions.

Tonkinese

The Tonkinese was developed by crossbreeding Burmese with Siamese. Another cat that is intelligent, athletic, lively and of course, talkative. They form strong bonds with their humans. Photo below is of a Tonkinese.
