Cats and Eating Prey IV

in cats •  5 years ago  (edited)

Maintaining a healthy GI tract is important for cats and consumption of foreign bugs can sometimes cause disruption to the digestive sitting. If a cat is able to binge on a collection of smaller bugs, the effects can snowball into a risky upset stomach that will result in vomiting, runny stools and other symptoms that indicate digestive irritation.

Intervention around certain bugs is important as some may pose risk when consumed in small amount, for example, beetles are not to be consumed by cats as they can become the literal term of a stomach bug. If a cat has inevitably consumed a larger bug, a close eye should be maintained to ensure they do not suffer from any blockages.
