It seems all gingers have freckles

Tom showing off the freckles on his nose. In cat terms, he's a redhead and in cats, the spots are called lentigo. They aren't cancerous, they are similar to freckles and they are caused by sun exposure and you will only see them on cats with orange genes: Gingers, tortoiseshell and calico coats. Because Tom is a male cat, he only has one colour, the colour genes are carried on the X-chromosome so calico and tortoiseshell cats are always female, unless you get a tortoiseshell male that's a genetic oddity and has XXY genes but these males are sterile and cannot breed.

Cutie! :)...Our cat Picasso has also small black spots on her nose. I'm glad if they are not dangerous. I have always wondered what they are.

They are odd spots

This cat has a very pleased expression on the face. Apparently he likes to live in your home.

he's happy to have a home

Beautiful man!!!
I think that he knows this and therefore looks down on us !!! :-)))

Actually, he's shy and the only way I could take a picture was by putting the camera below him

And shy he is also beautiful! :-)))

I have only ever seen those spots on ginger-and-white cats... my parents had a ginger-and-white when they lived in Spain and she had those spots. My old college roommate's cat had similar markings... and those nose spots, which we (at the time) thought were a form of "kitty acne." Which, clearly, they are not.

=^..^=

Any ginger-gened cat, regardless of whether they have white, gets them
