A few years ago, when the first Savage Garden CD came out... I listened to it multiple times at the Virgin Megastore in Vancouver. When I was finally able to bring it home i did.

My sons' father had this three disc stereo he bought with his inheritance. An Aiwa. I remember that thing as if it was nothing. He babied it. The boys were never EVER allowed around it. He would get super pissed off if anyone would use it, and you would have to get his expressed consent before even BREATHING near it.

Well one day when he wasn't home, I kept blasting my SG CD. He came home and he wanted me to stop playing it. Said he was sick of listening to it (which he had only heard the clip of To The Moon and Back, which was the FIRST song on the disc...). I said no, and he kicked his foot into the front of the stereo. Smashing the front end, and ability of removing the cds from the player.

i was super livid at him. But I said nothing, as I feared he would take that foot to me next. So I kept quiet. We put the broken stereo into the hallway, and one day when he wasn't home, I pryed the discs out of the player. My SG was scratched to living shit. I had to deal with the skips until I could find a new one.

I found a new one years later, when we weren't together anymore... I played that disc non-stop because I knew I could.

Sounds like a total asshole.

Oh that's nothing. He tossed a thick glass at my head when he couldn't get his pot...and it shattered in my hair...

Dumb question time: How do you shatter hair?
