The famous Spring Roll in Lapu - Lapu city, cebu!!! @denkeicui

in cebu •  7 years ago

Spring roll commonly found in Indonesia and the Philippines. Spring roll is quite similar to fresh popiah or fried spring rolls popular in Southeast Asia. Spring roll is called "lumpia" in Cebu. There is one place in Queen City of the South (Cebu) that has caught the attention of Cebuanos. A store that located close to a school in the island of Cebu. A simple Store named "Lumpia ni Senyang" and it is owned by Hertrudes Tendon A.K.A Nang Senyang. She started selling lumpia in 1973 outside the gate of Saint Alphonsus Catholic School (SACS). From selling at the gate, she was able to sell inside the school. As the business grew, she was able to rent a place located at the back of the school and opened it as a simple restaurant. Back in 1973 these were priced at PHP0.40 for three pieces. She now sells the lumpia at PHP20.00 each.

Senyang's Spring roll is HUGEEE! Your Php20.00 of lumpia + Php5.00 of huge "puso" (hanging rice) + Php10.00 of buko juice + a dessert of Php5.00 Yema is worth it!!! TASTE THE CRUNCHY LUMPIA NI SENYANG!!!

BTW the store renamed as "Kaon ta ka Senyang".
