It was one lazy day when a friend of mine called to say if we could come with them to a sudden 'out of plan' trip to Oslob, Cebu (one of the many jewels of Cebu often visited for its whale shark watching). So, me and hubby just grab a pair of clothes and some other things and off we go to a more than 5 hour trip to the southern tip of Cebu Island.

Whale sharks can be seen in Tan‑awan, 10 kilometres (6.2 mi) from the center of the town. Local fishermen feed the whale sharks by hand which has become a popular tourist attraction.

We arrived at BCD's Place after the muscle numbing trip.
Rates are as follows:
Local: Php300 - whale watching (in the boat only, no swimming), plus life jacket
Local: Php500 - snorkeling with the whale sharks with life jacket
Foreign: Php1000 - snorkeling with the whale sharks with life jacket

Me and Flong decided to just watch from the boat while the guys bond with their long lost relatives (just kidding :D)

While these whale sharks are completely harmless, tourists are advised not touch them and shall maintain a minimum distance of 3 meters to not harm these creatures. A short briefing is required before actually seeing these whale sharks. The following are the code of conduct that needs to be followed:
Do not attempt to touch, ride, or chase a whale shark.
Do not restrict normal movement or behavior of the shark.
Maintain a minimum distance of 3 meters from the whale shark.
Do not undertake flash photography.
Do not use motorized underwater diver propulsion.
All in all the long trip was all worth it. It's not everyday that you got to be that close with these gentle giants.
One important note to remember though before going is that, Whale Shark Watching is only good for 30 minutes and available only from 6:00AM to 12:00 PM daily. You don't want to go on a long hour trip just to arrive late and disappointed.

I havent been anywhere in Cebu but I really have a long list that I wanna do there I wish I could come late this year.
