Mano Po! : Filipino way of Respecting Elders (My first official post)

Mano Po!

Many countries have its own ways of showing respect to other people. Like in Korea they will bow lowly to their Grandparents and those older people than them. Japanese as well bows to people older than them.

In the Philippines which and where I proudly exist has its own way or gesture of showing respect to elders.

We basically get their hands and touch it on our forehead, we called this as "Mano Po" or "Bless" in Philippines. I have been practicing this manner since I was a child until now. Children are necessary to be taught to this manner in school and of course at home. If you want to visit the Philippines and adapt our culture while staying in our country, this manner can make the elders loved and respect you as well, for the reason that they will be happy that other countries know how to respect Filipino elders.

Although we have differences of showing respects to the elders. Whats important is that, it lead us to be a person that we need to be in this world. Mannerism is very important to practice most especially the young ones, so that it will be inculcated to their mind that respecting older people is primarily to possessed good values and become a person with morality.
