A Greatful Heart At 32.....

At exactly 12:00am on this day(2nd January), she was delivered of a baby boy and their joy know no bound. Everybody was happy and they were congratulating her for safe delivery. And the boy grew, went through different phases of life and yet God kept and preserve him.

And now it's been three decades and two years, my birthday is here again. I felt no reason to celebrate being a year holder today. I woke up with a debt liability equivalent to 515 SBD (the highest debt I have ever incurred in my life), few unaccomplished goals and targets in the past year and many more other reasons why I should not celebrate my birthday.

Just when I thought I am justified, the reality dawn on me how ungreatful I am to think I have no reason to rejoice at 32. I began to remember every reason why I must celebrate and thank my God.

• I remembered that I could lost my job on two occasions before mid year in 2017, but God preserved my job for me. I equally could have lost this same job in November 2017 as a result of the debt liability, but God still kept my job for me yet again.

• I remembered God has blessed me with a wonderful family with two beautiful girls who brings me joy every time I look at them.

• I also remembered that God has given me grace to achieve many things, I have executed many projects that are beyond my capacity. These are projects I couldn't have done until I am 40 or above, but God has helped me to accomplish them at 32.
• Above all, being alive is enough reason for me to thank my God and celebrate life at 32.

For all these reasons and many more, I give God all the praise. This is the #untalented me saying "I'll always lay it to heart to say thank you God." For everything remarkable, God has been responsible. Even when I did not merit it, God's favour and mercy locate me.

In the words of my mentor and teacher, Rev. Gbeminiyi Eboda. He says

"never mistake a motion for progress nor confuse a bus stop for an end stop."

This is why I know that the future is brighter than I can imagine because where God is taking me, I am not there yet. I will keep on moving until I get there no matter how challenging the journey may be.

I may not see the rain or hear the sound of the wind, surely I know that my valley shall be filled with waters.

To the God of my journey at 32 I say a big THANK YOU....
