RVISION EXCLUSIVE: BY ARIFA

The exodus of persecuted Rohingya was seen in late August 2017 following a pre-planned attack on them. Immediately along with humanitarian groups, we have spotted many celebrities from Bollywood, Hollywood, and others in the makeshift camps of Cox’sBazaar, Bangladesh.

LOVE ARMY

Initially, on 27th November 2017, we spotted producer of DJ Snake Lean On and Jurassic World actor Omar Sy teamed up in a group called “LOVE ARMY” in makeshift camps of Cox’sbazzar, where 1000s of Rohingya were crossing the border in search of a safe place.

The trip was aimed to bring attention to the Rohingya and raise funds for their immediate humanitarian needs.
"Behind us are nearly 1,000,000 people, the Rohingya," DJ Snake said in a Twitter video filmed at the refugee camp.

"They've been kicked out of their home … and they are living a horrible life. We've come with the Love Army to meet them, to talk to them, and to understand their needs. If we all work together, we can change their lives."

Adding to those Love Army stars, led by French Snapchat star Jérôme Jarré, also launched a GoFundMe campaign to raise money for the refugees, and the campaign turned to a success story and raised more than $1.5 million.

"The government of Bangladesh is overwhelmed by the refugee crisis," the team writes in the GoFundMe description.

"The refugees arrive having eaten little if anything in days, and with just the clothes on their backs. Children are especially vulnerable to human trafficking, servitude, and abuse, as many have become separated from their families. Once they arrive in the tent cities (without any sanitation), the daily struggle continues to access clean water and food."

To see an actress like Priyanka Chopra was like a dream comes true for many Rohingya fans. So, Rohingya in flocks were seen in her visit to see a glimpse of their favorite actress.

"Why would I not recognize Priyanka Chopra?" said Rohingya youth Saiful Alam, who was one among the thousands. "I have watched countless films of her. I feel immensely glad that I got to her see her in reality."

Similar sentiments were echoed by another Rohingya youth Abul Kalam. In his words, it felt like a "dream come true" to see Priyanka in real life. "We know the names of most of the Bollywood actors and actresses."

In her visit, she went to several Unicef-provided children’s centers in the camps and talked with the afflicted children there.
