Reading the title many of you might have pictured an article supporting Bhai with some facts and logic. But it’s not. What I’m going to talk to you here is about our nation; its mentality and why we still are the slaves just being mastered by our own race.
Sallu, BHAI, The Last Action Hero and what else we’ve been calling him since last 25 years now. And yes, he is a good actor, has an amazing fan following and a few good deeds in his bag. Being Human has helped Salman salvage his rich brat / the cute villain image. With his big money he has appointed Brand Management companies to take care of his image and how the articles and views are expressed in the media about Bhai.
One might say, what’s wrong in that..?
And yeah, there’s nothing wrong as such. No law has been broken or nobody has been harmed in any way by appointing the Brand Builders. The problem is not he hired big companies to maintain an image of himself which would ultimately help him come out of his Bad Boyish Era. But some things never change. Remember the Black Buck killing in Rajasthan..?
This guy has problems. Alcohol, Mental Instability and picturing himself above the law are a few of them. Our Justice System is weak and the powerful people of this nation want it to be as it is. They get involved in some issue, the matter goes to the court and then it stays there for years to come. “Powerful People” get bail in few hours, even though they’re involved in some serious crimes. And what happens to the common man? He suffers. We’ve read about cases where the innocents have spent years in jail because of this crappy judiciary system.
We talk about equality. We talk about honesty and we want our governments to be fair to all. Though, when this Alcoholic Macho Man is released or given bail we celebrate it like we’ve won the world cup. Come-on guys, let’s be sensible. Imagine, if it were you, who was buying some pastry from that American Bakery and he would have hit you..! Would you still be firing crackers and dancing like “Ganesh Visarjan” in his support???
We need to understand, he might be good looking, might have great body, might be the greatest actor / Musician / Sports Star / Politician. But ... He’s not above the law. Nobody is. You can’t fast-track the bail, because he has more money than the most of us do. The law must be same for all. He has committed 2 big crimes which have been reported and he has been proven guilty in both. Yet he roams around, lives a normal life and is not at all worried about the judgments.
We still are the slaves of these Brands. And by brand I just don’t mean a product or some physical thing. A brand is a unique / niche product. From Amitabh Bachchan to Sachin Tendulkar, Jaylalitha to Narendra Modi, they’re all brands. And we are annoyingly obsessed with them. We start making them feel they’re gods. And once they start believing in our idea of considering them as Gods, it results in Salman Khan.
Salman’s lawyer asked to shorten the jail term, because Salman is the founder of a charitable organization, BEING HUMAN. I would say if he really believes in charity and wants to help the society, he should be accepting the verdict and setting an example of celebrity facing jail for what he did. That would be his best contribution for betterment of the society.
