In this opportunity I share with you one of the most terrible natural tragedies that my country Venezuela has gone through, it is known as the tragedy of Vargas and it happened on December 15, 1999 and it is known that there were thousands of families affected, deceased, missing children and above all infinite sad stories for many Venezuelans., since that day for vargas nothing returned to do as before ....
It is one of the sad and terrible step by nature in our country, dozens of families saw their homes collapsed, their belongings and the saddest not to find many loved ones. Some of the survivors of that tragedy tell of the anguish and fear they feel when a rain approaches.
The government of that time declared more than 3000 thousand disappeared, more than 94,000 thousand victims of this terrible natural event.
That remembered day of 1999 by many inhabitants denominates "the day that the mountain advanced until the sea", after heavy precipitations of the last days of December of that year give rise to extensive deslaves and landslides in the mountainous slopes.
Vargas is 20 minutes from Caracas, the capital of Venezuela still retains some of its old, narrow streets and is characterized by its beaches and beautiful landscapes.
