sourceCrops planted in the farm are sometimes uprooted and carried away by erosion. Its normally serious when the land is slopy. Erosion causes soil infertility by reducing nutrient content of the soil. This results in poor crop yield. Top soils that surpports crops is gradually removed by erosion. Erosion invovles the detachment and transportaion of soil particles from one area to another.
Soil particles detached by erosion are deposited in reservoirs, rivers and dams. This leads to water pollution and shortages. This makes farmers spend more time, money and labour to control erosion.
To prevent erosion, overgrazing of pasture or field should be prevented. Planting of trees prevents erosion by acting as wind breaks. Stop the act of bush burning so that organic matter and micro organisms will help to improve soil struture and control erosion
