WHO IS A BELIEVER

Thank you Lord for another beautiful morning. Good morning my steemit pals and family, my question for you today is, who is a believer?

The New Testament specifically describes a believer as a person who believes in Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and saviour and accordingly follows him (Jesus) in all His (Jesus ') ways - Act 5:14.

Although the New Testament authors laid emphasis more on "believing" rather than on a "Believer" as a title to a Christian - Acts 4:32

yet today we know that our name as believers point to our personal relationship and commitment as Christians to our Lord Jesus and his ways.

THE SIGNS THAT FOLLOW BELIEVERS ARE

• cast out devils - Mk 16:17, Luk 10:19.
• speak with new tongue - Acts 2:4.
• take up serpents .
• heal the sick - Matt. 10:1-8.

These are the signs that must follow believers that believe, not belivers that doubt.

SOME BIBLICAL INSTRUCTIONS TO BELIEVERS

1. gird up the lions of your minds : the allusion here is to the manner in which the orientals were accustomed to dress.

They wear loose, flowing robes, so that, when they wished to run or to fight, or to apply themselves to any business, they were obliged to bind their garments close around them.

1. Be sober : this means be watchful, be vigilant against all your spiritual dangers, and be temperate and modest in eating, drinking, apparel, recreation, business, and in the whole of your behaviour.

2. Be an obedient child : this is an invariable characteristic of all Christians. The difference between God's children and the children of this world turns on obedience to God.

3. Recognize that you are a pilgrim in this world : as a result of this fact, learn to set your affections on things on high.

4. Stay in the consciousness that you are a redeemed of the Lord : you were bought with the precious and matchless blood of Jesus.
