What does love mean?

A group of professionals interviewed a group of children from 4 to 8 years of age about what love means to them. These were the answers that these children gave. And we can see that they are deeper and wider than one could imagine.

"When my grandmother suffered from arthritis, she could not bend over to paint her toenails, so my grandfather painted them all the time, even when her hands also had arthritis, that's love." Rebecca - 8 years old

"When someone loves you, the way they say your name is different. You can be sure that your name is safe in their mouths. " Billy - 4 years

"Love is when a girl puts on a perfume and the boy uses shaving cologne and then they smell each other." Karl - 5 years

"Love is when you go to a place to eat and end up giving your chips to someone without asking them to finish giving them theirs". Chrissy - 6 years old

"If you want to learn to love, you should start with a friend whom you hate." Nikka - 6 years old

"Love is when you tell a guy that you like his shirt and then he does not take it off all day" Noelle - 7 years

"Love is when a woman a little old and a man a little old are still friends although they know each other very well". Tommy - 6 years

"During my piano recital I was very scared and nervous and then I looked at the audience and saw my dad in the audience, he waved and smiled and I was not scared anymore". Cindy - 8 years old

"My Mommy loves me more than anyone. You will not see anyone else kissing me before going to sleep "Clare - 6 years

"Love is when Mami gives Papi the best chicken prey" Elaine- 5 years

"Love is when your little dog licks your face, even if you left him alone all day" Victoria - 4 years

"I know that my older sister loves me because she gives me her old clothes and goes out and buys new ones for her" Lauren - 4 years

"Love is when Mom sees Dad in the bathroom and she does not think he's fat" Mark - 6 years

And the last - The author and lecturer Leo Buscaglia, was once invited to be judge of a contest. The purpose of this contest was to discover and reward the most loving child. The winner was a 4-year-old boy whose elderly neighbor had lost his wife. The boy saw this old man cry in his yard and the boy went and sat next to him, when his mom asked him what he had said to the old neighbor, the boy said: "Nothing, just help him cry".
