ANIMAL KINGDOM- THE EAGLE.
Ever since I realized the meaning of my middle name, I've taken keen interest on the eagles. My middle name is 'Ugo' and it means 'An Eagle'. This made me want to know more about them because in my hometown, it is believed that a person's name influences the person's behavior.
So, today, I will be telling you about the eagles, their characteristic traits and things we could learn from them. Oh yes! We can learn from animals too!

LESSONS FROM THE EAGLE.

VISION.
Where there is no vision, the people perish. Proverbs 29:18.

The Eagles are well known for their incredible vision/eyesight. This makes it an excellent hunter. Their vision is so acute that it can see a fish in the sea when it is very high in the sky. Its eyesight is estimated to be about 4 to 8 times stronger than that of the average human. No wonder someone who has a great eyesight is said to have "The Eagle's eyes".
Colour vision with resolution, clarity and the power of focus are the most prominent features of the eagle's eyes. The eagle sees clearly its prey , strategizes, before preying on it.
Lesson
A clear vision and foresight is necessary for a successful life. You must see clearly with your mind's eye that which you want to achieve and become. Without it, the future will be bleak and foggy. I must see clearly my prey, before I prey on it.

Symbol of Strength
The eagles are used as symbols in many national flags and emblems all around the world. This is because they are believed to represent power and vigor. They are majestic and bold. They capture their prey with such boldness without even looking over their shoulders. They are a symbol of strength and determination. Even the Nigerian coat of arms, as do the United States of America, has an eagle as one of its symbols, representing strength.
Lesson
Just like the eagle, we should put on the shield of boldness whenever we're faced with a fiery task. Knowing that we will surely overcome.

The process of change
Eagles, when they are about 30years old, they go through a process of renewal. Finding a solitary place very high in the mountains where there would be no distraction, the old eagle begins to claw at its face and body, tearing out its feathers and hitting its beak against a rock to remove it. This process is a very painful one. As a result of this, it bleeds badly. But this is a very vital process for the eagle in order to renew its strength. Failure to do this would result in a shortening of its life span. This process takes more than 50days to complete.
Lesson.
In order to rebuild, we must first tear down

As humans, we should endeavour to take out personal time for ourselves. Time to be alone. Quite alright, we cannot renew our skins but we can renew our minds. We have to reflect and tear out our old self-things that could be destructive to our living, just as the eagle does.

The Eagle flies alone.
The eagle doesn't fly in groups. They fly singly, and as such, have a capacity of flying very high.
In life, we don't always need to move with the crowd, because following the crowd, sometimes pulls us down and slows our movement. Being around people is good, but sometimes, we have to leave the presence of others and renew ourselves.

Eagles are Predatory in Nature
Predators are animals or other organisms that hunts and captures prey, primarily for food. When an eagle sees its prey, it descends on it and captures it. The eagle always wins if there's any struggle at all.
No wonder the Nigerian under 20 national football team is proudly named "The Flying Eagles" because they prey on the football field..
