A BIG thanks to my mentor @sirknight for giving us the oppurtunity to participate in this daily challenge.

AGRICULTURE AND ITS IMPORTANCE

Agriculture is something that should be part of us by now because it is one of the important things of life i.e we can't do without Agriculture.
I will define Agriculture in my own term.
Agriculture is the act of farming that involves the rearing of animals and planting of crops for man's benefit or commercial purposes.
Agriculture is very important for many reasons, which includes:

Food

Agriculture is very important because it provides food and we all know that food is important to man for survival and to keep us healthy. It is essential that farmers(subsistent or commercial) need to plant crops for the availability of food in the society. Today, you can be a subsistent farmer by finding a small piece of land in your compound or environment to plant crops so as to make food available for you and your family.

Shelter

Agriculture is also important because it provides shelter. No doubt, most shelters(if not all) are made up of woods, either for roofing, for supporting storey buildings during construction or it can also be used for decorating the house, in terms of furniture. Trees grown by farmers on their farmland are used for shelters. These woods go through many processes before they are used as furnitures.

Clothing

Agriculture is really crucial because it also provides clothing. Clothing materials can be gotten from fibre crops which are planted by farmers. cotton can be converted to
clothing materials and it goes through processes that lead to the availability of clothes. To show how important agriculture is in one's life, no man can do without clothing him/herself because clothing is very crucial to man to cover one's nakedness. Animal skins are also used to for clothing e.g shoes, caps, leather jackets, e.t.c. Clothing is also used for fashion purposes these days.

Drugs

Agriculture provides drugs to cure one's sickness and disease(s). Drugs are produced either using local methods or modernized methods. Drugs produced locally are usually referred to as herbs and drugs produced using modernized methodare commonly referred to as medicine. They both work effectively for the body. Locally made drugs(herbs) are prepared by making use of bark of trees, leaves, e.t.c and modernized drugs(medicine) are also made with bark of trees, leaves and other artificially prepared chemicals are used. Agriculture really helps in the provision of drugs to human.
