What part is played by the white cells in the blood of a human body?

The white cells are the body's natural armour against disease. When germs enter a body, they are attacked by hosts of white cells. Disease is in fact a fight between leucocytes and the germs. It is a fight to death. It ends with the death of either germs or the patient.
