European Court makes Facebook page owners responsible for new data privacy protection law
June 5th 2018 a European court has demanded that a chamber of commerce
has to take down its facebook page because it was liable for the data privacy protection law
this is a very dangerous precedent.

we are about to enter a totalitarian state

I would be dumping Facebook quick. There has been alternatives out there for quite some time now. There are even "private" ones where you can PAY for a yearly fee and just keep it between you and your closest friends -- so you can stay in touch and the like without all the garbage it entails.

I'm so glad I cut off Facebook back in the day. Cold Turkey. I just have to make sure I actively reach out to my family with the phone now to get information. That part sucks because they don't always willingly offer it and they forget (even after all these years) "Oh somebody tell Mikl. Mikl doesn't have Facebook..."

i use it for business and it works.. so i am staying with facebook... feature wise its the best platform.
steemit is really too slow in development against competitors

Some of the motivational speeches I was listening to yesterday were talking about that very thing. Facebook is still the best platform if you actually want to reach an audience and make money with it.

After listening to them, I actually considered signing up again after all these years just to help make money later. Then I had a mini-mind-screw, a double-take and figuratively smacked myself in the face for it.

I acknowledge, that MAYBE I do need to change my perspective on it. MAYBE. But that's as far as I've gotten on it. Maybe, what I need to do, is learn more about how to use it for business and generating income, rather than personal uses.

I think that might be a good thing to do. I'll put it on "my list." With the 2 year backlog on that list though, I'll re-evaluate it when it comes around again, unless circumstances change. Ha. Ha. Which, you know, they could.

I've only been on Steemit for a couple of months and it is slow compared to competitors. That makes me sad. I wish I had more development experience to help.

friend of mine spend $20 on facebook ads and got a $20k contract.. so yeah it does work.. same as linkedin... some companies doing 90% revenues from there. steemit sucks for now... social media is and always will be the future from now on.. but when it properly moves on the blockchain nobody knows
