Supreme Court Takes Case That Could End Internet Censorship, Expand First Amendment

Is Facebook a "state actor"?

This is something that the United States Supreme Court is going to decide. It elected to take on a case that deals with Internet censorship.

After the deletion of over 800 accounts the U.S. Supreme court agreed to hear a case which will determine whether a private company with public access such as Facebook is deemed a state actor.

If this is the case, the actions of late censoring individuals by deleting their accounts would cease.

Good... So many people treat these companies as above the law.

"It's their private company they can do what they want"... meanwhile, that catholic baker thought they could do what they want, but the courts decided that they COULD NOT refuse people for personal reasons.

I'm not sure that facebook will survive the scandals.
