After the stuff up in Queensland, after which Campbell Newman (Then Premier) declared his government would never again award a single contract to IBM, it is strange that the federal government would then award it such an important job.
That, and the rumor which is kicking around that the idea of a all digital census was shot down by Joe Hockey when he was still Treasurer, because he believed that it would be too difficult and dangerous to implement all at once, and a single state trial should be conducted first. His recommendations were clearly not heeded by the current cabinet.
