The role of a CEO

in ceo •  7 years ago

Uneasy lies the head that wears a crown, that's how you best describe the role of a CEO. There are delegates who report directly to CEO and they wonder what's the role of CEO is then. They feel CEO delegates works, many report directly to him and he doesn't own the responsibilities.

In reality CEO gives a cushion to all the delegates, he shields them from many responsibilities such as legal, conflicts and resource allocations. His job is one of the loneliest and extremely stressful yet he makes sure no one knows how he feels it. He mostly has a mixed day filled with uncertainty, selfdoubt and fear but still he present himself as someone who is full of energy, encouragement and optimism.

CEOs at the end are humans, so to manage the stress they should have a peer support group, which they can find confidence and support.
