1.- Being obsessed with Excellence.
No matter what you do, do your best in what you are doing in the time you have to do it. If you only have 10 minutes to prepare for a presentation for example, then be the most focused and diligent trainer of all for each of those 600 seconds.
Make excellence your motto. Those obsessed with excellence can usually be found at the top of their classes and at the top of the corporate hierarchy. They are self-motivated and yearn to be able to improve, add value and innovate. They also inspire others to excellence by applying it to themselves.
They always make an extra effort and do those things that others are not willing to do. Often, those little things are what put them at the top. They work in their free time more than others. They make the phone calls that nobody wants to do. They go ahead, plan and pay attention to the details.
2.- Being obsessed with happiness.
You've only got one life. You can be filled with frustration and anger, bitterness, hatred, suspicion and resentment. Or we can become obsessed with the development of the characteristics that happy people possess.
People obsessed with their happiness (when they do it correctly) do not find themselves focused on themselves. They quickly learn that happier people focus on others. They develop traits such as patience, compassion and gratitude. They smile and laugh often unflinchingly.
They are obsessed with seeing the good in the bad and have the belief that with a little work, things will turn out well in the long term, even if they are not working today.
3.- Being obsessed with Gratitude.
What a wonderful obsession to possess! The types of people with this obsession usually see beauty, opportunity and a sense of humor even in most difficult moments of life. Not only are they obsessed with expressions of gratitude, they are obsessed with being grateful.
4.- Being obsessed with Wisdom.
Those affected by this obsession hunger and thirst for knowledge and intellectual development. But above all, they try to understand the wise application of that knowledge.
Knowledge is one thing. Knowing how, why and when, is something else.
If intelligence is the capacity for learning and knowledge of what you have learned, then the wisdom is knowing when, where and why that knowledge must be applied in a certain way ... and when it should not be.
These people are obsessed with understanding. And so, those obsessed with wisdom spend a lot of time learning and thinking. They study a wide range of knowledge.
5.- Being obsessed with the Character.
Ingenuity, intellect, sense of humor, popularity and a great personality are not enough for those obsessed with character.
They believe that character (which is their personal commitment to a set of moral standards) is more important than gold, power or prestige. They are protective of it and do not put themselves in circumstances where they may be tempted to act against it.
They are not at the mercy of their emotions. These obsessives are comfortable talking about morals, ethics and values. They speak freely of love, of humility, honesty and decency.
They work in being compassionate and kind. Your honor and integrity can not be bought and you will never be compromised. Those obsessed therefore tend to be highly respected and admired. They see the moral defects of pride and selfishness as something to be overcome.
6.- Being obsessed with Growth.
The obsessive with personal growth feel uncomfortable with stagnation. They shudder with affirmations like: "old parrot does not learn to speak". They challenge themselves and look for opportunities to learn, to excel and to become better than they were before.
They grow spiritually, mentally, emotionally and professionally. They work on their character and review their days, weeks, months and years to see how they can improve next time.
They go to the seminars and take a look at the personal growth books of the public library and welcome the challenges due to the growth they experience from them.
