El actual museo de anatomía de la Facultad de Ciencias Veterinarias de la Universidad Central de Venezuela, fue creado por el Dr. Víctor Manuel Arroyo, ilustre Médico Veterinario nacido en San Nicolas de los arroyos, Argentina, 11 de enero de 1891.
Llego al país el 4 de noviembre de 1946, atendiendo a una invitación del Ministerio de Agricultura y Cría, entidad a la cual esta adscrita la Escuela de Medicina Veterinaria, procede de la Universidad de la Plata donde ha sido maestro de varios Venezolanos becados por el gobierno nacional, entre quienes se encuentra el Dr. Urbina y Jesús Lander Guzmán . A estos últimos se debe la idea de invitarlo para organizar la cátedra de anatomía y de crear un museo anatómico, similar al de la Facultad de la Plata.
A su llegada al país comienza su ejercicio como docente, dedicándose al adiestramiento de personal aspirante, a la construcción de la pileta de maceración utilizados para el armado de esqueletos y la conservación de cadáveres, dentro de las aulas de clase, poniendo a disposición directa las piezas de estudio. Se dedica a la organización del museo de anatomía, donde logra armar el primer esqueleto de caballo, correspondiente al celebre CASCABEL , caballo de carrera ganador de varias carreras en el hipódromo de El Paraíso - Caracas.
El Dr. Arroyo deja instalado un pequeño museo, no sin antes recibir por parte de los alumnos y el profesorado un merecido homenaje, en la inauguración del pabellón que lleva su nombre.
Este insigne maestro a quien Venezuela debe tanto, falleció en Caracas el 11 de Diciembre de 1976. Actualmente. su legado se encuentra en peligro de desaparecer debido a la situación presupuestaria de la UCV, pero sin embargo contamos con tu apoyo para conservar este legado y que su deterioro se de a conocer
