Creo que si existe algún lugar de Venezuela donde puedas encontrar sitios interesantes y con grandes historias quizás la capital del Estado Mérida se coloque entre los primeros de la lista.

Ciertamente Ciudad de Mérida es algo más que el sistema de teleféricos más grande y alto del mundo o cumbres cuasi nevadas, existe allí en pleno corazón de la ciudad una pequeña heladería que me atrevería a decir que es la más famosa del mundo: Coromoto.

La Heladería Coromoto ostenta el récord mundial de ser el local dedicado a este negocio con mayor diversidad de sabores del mundo, al menos así lo certifica el libro de Records Guiness, conocida publicación que muestra las curiosidades de este planeta. De acuerdo al fundador de "la Coromoto", un inmigrante portugués recientemente fallecido, ninguno de los miles de sabores se repiten y su técnica para hacer tantos diversos sabores es el secreto mejor guardado del Estado Mérida.

Cuando visite la Heladería Coromoto trate de no intimidarse por su cartelera de sabores, ni tampoco se decida por los "tradicionales" helados de chocolate o vainilla, de esos puede probar el cualquier parte, aquí se viene a satisfacer la curiosidad y el paladar al mismo tiempo.

Ciudad de Mérida is more than just the largest and highest cable car system in the world or some snow-capped summits, there exists in the heart of the city a small ice cream shop that I would dare say is the most famous in the world: Heladería Coromoto.

The Heladería Coromoto holds the world record of being the place dedicated to this business with the greatest diversity of flavors in the world, at least this is certified by the Guinness Book of Records, a well-known publication that shows the curiosities of this planet. According to the founder of "la Coromoto", a recently deceased Portuguese immigrant, none of the thousands of flavors are repeated and his technique to make so many different flavors is the best kept secret of Merida State.
