Hot night shards - Střepiny z horké noci

Last year I set out for mushrooms in the woods below Krkavec (Raven). Krkavec is a hill with a lookout tower north of Pilsen. In the forests, besides the mushrooms, we can see the remains of the kaolin extraction, but also a large number of craters after the air bombs, which were thrown by the allied bombers under the strong fire of the German flakes defending Skoda Werke on the night of May 4 - 5, 1942.
In the vicinity of the craters there were traces of engraving of wild boars. And in one place, I stumbled over something, something, the bastards were digging up for food. It was a heavy piece of iron, a part of an air bomb. Remains of this hot night...

Minulý rok jsem jsem vyrazil na houby do lesů pod Krkavcem. Krkavec je kopec s rozhlednou na sever od Plzně. V lesích zde můžeme kromě hub narazit na pozůstatky po těžbě kaolinu, ale i na značné množství kráterů po leteckých pumách, které zde shodily spojenecké bombardéry pod silnou palbou německých flaků bránících Škodovku v noci ze 4. - 5. května 1942.
V okolí kráterů byly stopy po rytí divokých prasat. A na jednom místě jsem o cosi zakopl, cosi, co čuníci vyryli na honbě za potravou. Byly to těžké kusy železa, střepiny letecké pumy. Pozůstatky po této horké noci...

Soon after, I examined the delaborated bomb at the celebrations in Pilsen.
Zanedlouho poté jsem si prohlédl delaborovanou pumu na oslavách osvobození v Plzni.

I was still looking at the area on the map, the 1956 aerial image. The remains of the bombing are still visible ...

Tloušťka stěn pumy zhruba odpovídala tloušťce střepin, které jsem nalezl...
Podíval jsem se ještě na oblast na mapě, leteckém snímku z roku 1956. Pozůstatky po bombardování tam jsou dosud patrné...
