"First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Socialist.

Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Trade Unionist.

Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Jew.

Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me. "

"First they came ..." is a poem written by the German Lutheran pastor Martin Niemöller (1892–1984). It is about the cowardice of German intellectuals following the Nazis' rise to power and subsequent purging of their chosen targets, group after group.

The recent banning of Alex Jones' Infowars by facebook/youtube/instagram and other internet platforms is a dangerous move that now is affecting an ultraconservative outlet but can easily expand to include all dissenting voices from all spectre of political views.

We all have to be worried and start acting to oposse this trend.
