Words

Do words matter? People often say things they don't mean out of anger but we need to be careful what we say to our children/anyone you don't want to hurt, particularly because the things that we say out of anger can last a life time. This is the reason they say a "good insult" can last a life time. So in short, yes, words do matter.

I've decided to talk about this topic because I am also not perfect or good at the words I use especially when I am frustrated or angry. I am guilty for not thinking before I speak and have caught myself countless times of saying things I don't mean but then it's too late! I realize that I need serious help so during my search of self improvement I found a book written by Dr. David Hanscom titled "Bac to Control", it teaches techniques on how to catch yourself from going further into abyss when you are emotionally stressed. In the books there are some specific techniques that anyone can use to help seeing things in a different perspective.

In conclusion, it is important to be able to use our words effectively because the words you use can either encourage or cause detriment to a person's life permanently. I think we need to use our words responsibly in how we want to affect the person we are communicating with. If you ever feel like you are having problems in your interpersonal relationships, seek help. It is very important that we all act responsibly in how we chose, because our words can literally change our paradigm and the world.
