As many of you know, STEEM is awesome. It allows developers and users to do things that was impossible before. At this moment in time, STEEM is one year old and developers are coming out of the wood work to develop new apps:
- @zappl - Developing a Twitter replacement
- @furion - Developing a Youtube replacement
- @jesta - Developing a Forum interface
- @busy - Developing a Facebook-like interface
- @steepshot - Developing an Instagram-like interface
Now that is great but all those platforms require people to test them. They also need great writers on them with good rewards to get the funds they need to invest into development (through the arbitrary reward system)
How to Become a Paid Beta Tester for STEEM?

There's a few things we'll need to work on to make ChainBB easier to use though.
Notifications (I got the Notification for your answer on Steemit, but had to navigate back to ChainBB and find your answer first XS), a way to go directly to what I've posted in replies/comments, etc...
But other than that the whole idea seems very interesting !

I like how ChainBB gives me a direct insight into my remaining Vote Power and allows me to adjust it.
It was one of the things that annoyed me about Steemit. That such a statistic existed but that I had no way to access it directly in Steemit.

So I've been testing ChainBB, and I'm happy to test it further by continuing to use the site. However, I was under the assumption that I would be getting upvoted for my comments. Congrats from me as well, been supporting this project from the moment i found out about it. One question though, is there a guide of some kind regarding Streemian and its features? I registered and looked into it briefly, but was wondering if there is a post about it.

I am commenting from chainbb. If you are throwing Steem my way, how can I resist? One thing I've noticed about chainbb is that I am finding so many contributors that I've never seen on Steemit. It's easier to find new users here. I especially like the travel selections. So many great photos that heretofore I had missed on Steemit. Yes, it is. You can go to Steemd.com and find the post there. Click on advanced mode, and the "json_metadata" field will tell you which app the post was from.

That's one of the things that i find most exciting about steem compared to some of the other altcoins - there is always development, whether it's by the team itself or by 3rd party developers. That is where 90% of my professional and crypto relationships are. Who better to share similar interests? FB is based on friendship, not content. Twitter is timely information, Instagram for photography and influencing. Linkedin has become a very powerful collaboration tool. ChainBB stayed up and I realized that's another huge potential benefit to have all the layers we have working together on the steemit blockchain.. look under permissions in your wallet. You will see several keys. There is an owners key which you never share with anyone. The posting key is what you need. If you click the show private key adjacent to the posting key, that is what you need to log in. This key only allows posting, no access to your wallet. Hope this helps.

chainBB doesn't store anything of yours on our server, your posting key is saved in your web browser and (theoretically) should never leave it.
Also if somehow your keys do get hacked - the hacker would only be able to vote on posts or leave comments as you. Your funds would be safe :)

I think the bb part stands for bulletin board, but most people would simply call it an online forum. The chain part is probably based on the fact that it is running on a blockchain.
Chainbb is basically a forum interface for Steem.
