Paris - travel story - DAY 19 of 30 day writing challenge

Paris is the cities of love and one city I love, the city where I’ve been the first time on a trip with my love.
As spending the weekend here, we decided to go to visit some of the attractions we did not manage to see before. My wife used to live in Paris in our first months together, so Paris is not complete new, but it is always surprising.

We parked our car near “Pont du Artes”, the famous bridge with the lovers locks. There are no locks anymore as the city council decided to remove them, and replaced the metal fences with Plexiglas. People got inventive and placed the locks on the streetlights.

We walked to Notre-Dame, but the que was huge, so we decided to skip it again, we did this over 5 times already.

So we moved on to Place Georges Pompidou, to see L’Atelier Brâncuși.

Brâncuși, was one of the biggest sculptors of the modern time. He was born in Romania, but got big in Paris. He donated his ateliers to the French state, with the only condition, to keep them at the same place and position. He did his sculptures, co existing in the same place.

Another point where we haven’t been inside was the Palais Garnier, else known as the Paris Opera. It is named after its architect Charles Garnier. It is of unnatural opulence, which some might hate, but which I like. I love the attention to details, the hours put in to finish it, the high end materials used, which fit together. The eclectic style with the new-baroque elements is astonishing.

We got hungry, so we headed the narrow streets to grab something to eat. French tables are not suited for steaks. Lesson learned.

After the good dinner, we drove to Tour Eiffel, our lost stop for today.
