In 2015, during national service year, I read book on psychology of body language and gestures. In the book, the author encouraged readers to use people around them and their environment as laboratory. I started paying attention to body language of my friends and coworkers.
One day, I spotted a fellow female corp member going in different direction during community service. I noticed her body language, and I walked up to her together with a friend, every thing in her gesture shows that she's ruptured inside due to recent happenings in her life. My friend was trying to ask her how she's feeling, I told him to stop asking, that such questions will make her cry. Lo and behold, she looked into my eyes and started crying. She was curious as to what made me know her deep inside. I told her it is through a book that I read on body language, we became friends after, and she read the book.
I followed her up, to ensured that she actually read the book, and she was encouraged to share her problem with me. She got hurt by simple bad remark, the speaker was never aware that his words touched her soul deeply in a bad way. There are people in life who would have preferred physical abuse to mental abuse.
In her words, she said;
If he had thrown a stone at me, it would have been better.
That is how though those words were on her. Yesterday, I wrote about being impeccable with words, this is a typical example of how words was used as black magic.
You see, the best way to acquire knowledge is through reading. I was able to save her from crashing further because I diagnosed her remotely. It was a big surprise that her two friends had no idea what was running in her mind.
Till now, we remain as closed friends, and reading about body language has really helped her fashion designing career.

A very well done job. 60% of communication are non verbal. So, it is only wise for one to pay attention to things unsaid but all evident in the language the body speaks.
