How I lost a big chunk of my savings on crypto & got into Steemit

The story starts with another story, and that is a tale about when my sister wanted to start a yoga School. She wanted to borrow money from me for her initial renovation but back then I'd just broken my neck and I was bored in the rehab clinic at evenings so I told her she can't borrow money from me. In stead I wanted to pay for shares / equity in her business and help her out during my evenings.

As I became stakeholder in her company I was assisting my sister with managing and doing the renovations of the building she rented. Also I helped her set up her CMS MindBody software and designed and built Yagoy.nl (this is the second version of the website by the way!)
Inside the renovation Sahil, the Carpenter helping us out, was talking to me about setting up a computer rig to mine Bitcoin. This was back in 2012 (!!!) I looked into it but the mining seemed like something I had to learn and I wasn't feeling like learning how to mine. Because of the neck, aftermath, new house, girlfriend situation etc. I was also kind of depressed as I was back home facing reality of being handicapped.
So I didn't mine bitcoin. -.-

We fast forward to 2017 and another friend tells me to buy ether, it was $1 back then. By then BTC was a real thing, not some experiment anymore. This time I decided not to miss out on this weird phenomenon (that I did not read enough about on time -.-) I was lazy and it took me about a month to set up an account to be able to buy it. They had gone up to $80 (!!!) so I bought some ether and slowly I got addicted to the idea of becoming a crypto millionaire. I started with 6k and added another 4k to make the sum even. I really wanted to buy a Tesla model X with crypto gainzzz!

So I made a vision board with the car in it and how I was going to be able to take my wheelchair with me and become mobile once again.
Here's a picture of me and my cousin (I was faking a boner) with the car :D

We bought the car and now I'm planning to take out the seats and design the electric arm to haul my wheels. Without crypto gains tho.

Back to the crypto on hand. I started with ether only, but my friend who got me into it became a full-time trader. He joined paid telegram groups in 4 different time zones and was going all out. He got me exited and was sharing his signals, so I started sliding onto tradingview and from 1 account on Coinbase I went to a paid Coinigy account to manage trading on bittrex, kraken and binance.
End of november 2017 I moved to Curacao and wasn't paying much attention to my slightly diverse portfolio. Suddenly december hit, and if you were trading back then you'll probably remember the burn. I was desillusioned, I spent time and energy on this, and lost money. If only I would've hodled my ether.
So many buy high sell low fails on my part made me realise I wasn't made for daytrading, and I didn't want to make myself do it. So I put in another 10K after BTC dropped after it hit the 20K mark. I had 20K in crypto, and I was sure it would go 5x and pay for the 100K tesla!
My new strategy was week / month trading, watching the big waves in stead of the daily 10-20% hunt. My portfolio in January was booming, I'd made up for my december losses and was getting BTC gains!

At the highest point of my portfolio value, 13 of january, I broke my phone. No phone - no access to exchanges! I lost my 2fa and I just didn't check my portfolio anymore. I was tired of the charts and numbers. It was going well but I really knew it wasn't because I'd become a crypto guru. It was just the market, like now, it's impossible to lose right now.
2 months later in Holland I fixed my phone screen, and my 20K was worth about I think 9k because everything was in alts -.-
oh my god how did I f*** this up.

Lucky part about breaking my phone in Curacao was that I got to meet Giovanni @artzanolino . He talked to me about steam being a good place for an artist as he showed me his stuff. Mostly, the active art community he was part of was something I could notice he was very happy and grateful for. I was tired of the crypto day trade. Telegram groups, stressed out, always having your fingers ready to pull the trigger. Just to mess up on the buying high selling low, even though you're connected with all the f****** telegram groups. Wasting time and losing money, not anymore! I wanted to get involved in the crypto early adopter community. I was like I'll just stop investing money and start investing time.

Waited about a month for my account, took another month to gather all my ideas, and just recently I good-bye'd facebook and hello'd seemit!
I also enjoyed very nice support from total strangers on the steemit platform like @erodedthoughts on my vlog

So the amount of money I spent on crypto in total, I'm going to give myself an hourly rate, divide the total investment by my rate and then decide how many hours I'm going to put into working on steam per week.

This is my promise to you steemians
the calculation is €20,000 divided by an average pay of...???
Usually I take €110 per hour as a consultant - I've got a Msc in real estate management and urbanism in the technical university of Delft and I've had my own company since the age of 18. I'm 31 now and I'm trying to move towards arts. That's the lifestyle you want to live; to do what you want to do, to say what you want to say and to be who you want to be.
So I divide the whole 20K by €100 per hour so it's a 200 hours workload.
Not just did I get onto steem, I will spend about 10 hours a week creating content for steem! I don't care about the money because I'm launching my Enablement courses at Yagoy for a stable cashflow, sign up for the web courses at www.thedisabledenabler.com

My mission is to help the rise of a generation of leaders who evolve our hunter-gatherer society to a gatherer-sharer community. Circle economy, cradle2cradle, no more money as value but time and energy! My tool for this is the Energy Management Compass, more coming soon!

Check out my WheelLife vlog, I go live quite often!
and to quote the webpage that motivated me to sit and write this,
I'm going to write every word I know. Adapt. Improvise. Overcome. Work it. Harder. Faster. Stronger.
