German tourist gets killed in a motorcycle accident in Chiang Mai as a ghost driver

At 1.45 am on early Saturday morning (May 18), a German tourist died on his motorcycle in Chiang Mai. The German was driving with his high-performance motorcycle contrary to the driving direction as a ghost driver when he raced head-on against a pickup on a two-lane road in Chiang Mai.

Early Saturday morning, the police and local rescue workers in Chiang Mai were called to an accident on Mahidol Road in Pa Daed Township. A German tourist, later identified as Jan S. by the police, was riding in the wrong lane with his fast motorcycle, a Honda Rebel 500, racing into a pickup head-on. Any help came too late for the German. He died at the scene of the accident.

In the first investigation into the accident, the police also discovered a lot of marijuana in a plastic bag with zipper, which the German at the time of the accident carried with him.
