My three changes for 2018

in change •  7 years ago

It is the second week of 2018. My year started quite rough and i think i already broke the so called "normal resolutions".

Instead of making a big deal of the precise moment that the year started i decided to use that moment to start preparing for what is coming. When you get pregnant it is a huge thing and you would (if your'e a good parent) start making the changes that are necessary to ensure that you and your baby are healthy. The moment that you are impregnated could be long before you realise that you are pregnant. I started to get my shit together late last year by panning ahead. I'm not actually pregnant, it was just a analogy. I do have plans that are going to need my focus. That said, i used the first week of the year to get all my ducks in a row.

When i was younger i used to swim allot. Swimming gives me an amazing feeling that i can't describe in words. I grew up swimming in pools. But then they introduced me to the ocean and i was hooked. Today i am quite far from the ocean and i miss it allot. Yet i do have a pool that is finally fixed and i will aim to swim at least once a week. By swimming i hope to get the exercises i need to keep me fit.

The second thing that i am learning to change is my diet. I was never a big meat eater, yet i did enjoy a piece of meat once in a while. There are a lot of products that contain meat and dairy and therefore i consumed much more meat than i initially thought. I officially consider myself a vegetarian but i aim to have a plant based diet.

Since i started being really conscious of what i eat and since i have been trying things out i actually enjoy cooking much more. I get to eat more food, yet my body would not allow me to over-eat, which means that there is a good balance.

The third change i intend to make is my devotion to expres my creativity. If you would ask me, i could come up with lots of ideas and plans that could amount to something great of beautiful. Yet in most cases, even if i would say it out loud, i didn't do much more with it. I think that is sad. I'm not Picasso or Beethoven, but imagine if they kept all their talent to themselves and never shared it with the world.

I like taking a picture of something i consider to be beautiful of special. Beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder. I am going to explore with photography and i will see what will come of it.
