Listening to a little Lovecraft for inspiration for #TheTear. I find his use of repetitive language and the “scientist’s” perspective interesting. So far his stories have a detached feeling to them.
I love the formlessness of the evil in his world and can definitely see the inspirations in John Carpenter’s work. I’m having to rely on the audio books at the moment. The only time I have to listen to his work is to and from my job.
I want to capture the oppressiveness his stories and the personal horror of characters that are facing off against things they can’t understand and yet still fight against.
