... the glacial age will by degrees be repeated in Northern Europe; such countries as Ireland, Great Britain, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, the north parts of Russia, Germany, France and Spain, will gradually become uninhabitable. This alteration will be compensated for by the development of a temperate climate affecting such countries as China, India, Africa, and Egypt, and in consequence a rapid increase of civilization will be the result in all these countries.

Count Louis Hamon (Cheiro) 1866-1936

In the coming 50 years an earthquake zone will develop in NE Pacific coast of Peru up through to the Arctic regions. Eastern cities of the U.S. will be affected, and parts of New York will be destroyed in 50-100 years. A series of earthquakes will cause the Azores to rise and Atlantis will resurface and be explored.

CHAPTER 11

Something I want to be careful about is setting up a kind of cult regime. The process of surviving a pole shift is not selective and no group of people should label itself as the chosen; anyone and everyone can try to survive. I don't want people to come and build the ark in a closed community and proclaim they are the chosen people. A time of preparing to survive a cataclysm is about saving humanity young and old, black and white and all of the other skin tones in between. It is a time for no prejudice. It is a time for human brotherhood. For me judging a person's worthiness of my friendship is based on observation of action, not on a preconceived opinion about first sight. Through actions people will let you know pretty quick whether their being represents a positive or negative psyche. It is what people collect and store in their intellects that will either attract or repulse me.

I think that people who join cults are cop-outs. I think the lure for these people is the opportunity to opt out of their responsibility for making decisions. Being given all of the answers must be a hell of a load off for these people who I assume were probably on the edge of a nervous breakdown. The weaker their mind, the more likely they are to join an equally more dangerous thinking leader. We all have moments of weakness and some pretty bizarre thoughts now and then, but a survivor will look for a way out of trouble and do so until their last natural breath. A survivor doesn't give their life away, their God-given life is taken away.

I am not looking for people who are so easily guided by blind faith. Hell, I've got my own doubts! I think it's a sign of good mental health for people to wonder about their options and have their own opinions. When I hear the quote "The meek shall inherit the earth" I understand that the humbled shall inherit the earth, not sheep!

I think it's the cataclysmic event itself that will humble the survivors and produce the meek, not so much a life dedicated to memorizing scripture and subjecting it to the interpretation of a charismatic leader whether this be in a cult or a church. I think people who are rigid in their beliefs will go into the deepest form of shock, and this post-traumatic stress disorder can last a lifetime. Of course we will all experience the shock of coming through a life-and-death situation and loss of our present reality's boundaries. Those with less rigid beliefs will have lost a lot less and therefore transit more easily into a new reality.

Open-minded people are adaptable and remain teachable; these are the people who interest me. They are the people to whom I give the best chance of survival during a time of world cataclysm. I expect shock for these people will give way to what I will call "humility based enlightenment"--like I experienced when I was flipped out of the raft and into the rapids or when I saw my wife regress, or anyone who has suffered through a life-changing moment will be able to recall what I mean. In time, our childhood innocence and wonder will be restored as we accept our new circumstances. The community that results from this earthly renewal will be spiritual. I predict this state of tolerance will linger for a long time after the shift.

In the older versions of the story of Noah's Ark, it is said some eighty people were on the Ark. When I was in the navy, I sailed on HMCS Provider, a five-hundred-foot supply ship. There were well over two hundred men in the crew, huge engine rooms, a vast amount of cargo space and room for thousands of gallons of fuel. We carried enough cargo and fuel for ourselves plus plenty for the rest of the fleet, which we replenished and refuelled at sea while underway.

The over two hundred men were basically a skeleton crew; during a war, a full ship's complement is significantly higher. On the ark there will be no engine room and no thousands of gallons of fuel. I believe the ark being roughly the same size as the HMCS Provider will easily accommodate several hundred people who dare to survive plus the animals and cargo to sustain a community after the shift.

Who will be in those hundreds on board? To tell you the truth, I don't know yet. As I've said, I believe there is a Higher Power engineering my part in this endeavour. I suspect the Higher Power will work in Its mysterious way and see to it that the people who are supposed to be there will be there. I think these people will be as confused as I am as to why they felt so compelled to participate in something so contrary to everything they've been taught. I think the ark's crew will simply manifest by itself, or at least that's the way it'll appear to us mere mortals. Anyone who shows up with more faith in my project than me, or says "God sent them" I will hear them out but I will also consider them highly suspicious.

I've been thinking about extending an invitation to the public to come and participate in building the ark. It is in this venue I expect the guiding influence to be free to move others and introduce me to the rest of Its crew. If I am right, I will be meeting some interesting people over the next several months.

I've heard that working holidays are becoming increasingly popular and participants leave feeling contented and rewarded. As I discussed in chapter one, a lot of people, for one reason or another, wind up spending their whole life doing one thing while their internal yearning cries out for something else. Although many of the choices I've made in my life were dissenting and my three-and-a-half-year incarceration was inconvenient, I do find myself free of the entrapments that imprison fellow forty-year-olds. Commitments and standard-of-living make it hard to switch careers in mid-stream, let alone walk away from everything to follow a gut instinct--to follow intuition. A less committed way people are finding to pursue their positive passion is with working vacations where they spend their annual two-week holiday at archaeological digs or working on the restoration of old ships.

Actually an acquaintance of mine just returned from such a holiday. There are a couple of brigantines that sail around the Thousand Islands in the St. Lawrence Seaway and into the Great Lakes every summer. They are crewed by teenagers whose families pay a fee for their child's "experience of a lifetime." The brigantines need annual maintenance and this year they allowed volunteers to be a part of the dockyard maintenance crew. Wayne was among them.

Wayne works all year yet used his vacation to work. Not only to work--but he worked without material compensation. The volunteers were picked up and driven to Cheasapeake Bay where across from the Navy base they would take a hammer and chisel and remove paint to get to cracks forming in the fibreglass. Later these cracks will be re-epoxyed. They also replaced the ship's fresh water tank. The volunteers lived and slept on board the dry-docked ship. Their meals were supplied by Fuller Construction of Ottawa--the ship's owners.

When I asked Wayne about his experience he said, "Loved it! --I gotta go back again." "So you felt somewhat rewarded," said I. "Extremely," said he. "Why," asked I? Wayne explained he has always loved ships all the way back to the days he spent in the Sea Cadets. Wayne is around forty; I asked him if getting in touch with this yearning was spiritual. His answer was "yes." He described not being able to sleep some nights; instead he'd wander up to the upper deck and sit, listening to the sounds coming from the harbour.

Having spent time in the Navy, I knew exactly what he was talking about. As a matter fact, even a landlubber who has stood at the edge of a lake in the midst of night with the stars overhead, the moon shimmering on the water, a cool dampness surrounding their cozy apparel and the sounds of nocturnal life forms--like a swimming beaver or the enchanting call of a loon--will be able to relate to the spiritual stirring going on within Wayne as he sat on the deck of the brigantine called Fair Geanne (named after Fuller's wife; now, that's romantic).

This image reminds me of the new Mastercard commercials where they say, "Some things are priceless. For everything else there's Mastercard." Wayne was compensated all right. It is in this spirit I intend to rebuild the ark. People will not have to believe in pole shifting to participate. I think a lot of people may simply be interested in seeing a full-scale, fully functional replica of Noah's Ark. Whether creating something historically significant and possibly significant to the future of humankind, I expect participants will experience spiritual uplift and pride in their participation in something that is not "more of the same," something outside of their ever present reality. And others will come because something inside them agrees with my words. They'll hear something like, "yes go", then pacify their intellects with a slogan like "better safe than sorry."

As the forecasted dates for presumed cataclysms arrive, I intend to throw pole shift parties; these will be weeklong jamborees. I am going to try and leave my will out of the selection of who will be at the parties. My guess is I will somehow recognize those who are to be invited from those who participate in building the ark, even though I've already found it hard to decipher whether what I'm feeling is spiritual guidance or myself getting caught up in a moment of my own excitement.

I've already begun the list with those who have helped me in the production of this book, so far only about a dozen or so. I still feel kind of silly when telling people they are invited to a pole-shift party, as I did when I invited the marine architect. Mind you, the people I invite seem to like to hedge their bets and, although not quite committed, they don't turn me down either.

I intend to create an atmosphere of community. A place where our earthly needs are not a concern, with some form of shelter and good food provided. A place where participation is sustenance for our souls and motive is not challenged. In the evenings or between shifts, campfires with marshmallows, hot chocolate and sing-alongs will become a place where our spirits can laugh and play. A place where families can work and play and share a common purpose. A good time that people will reflect on as one of the highlights in their life.

I intend to record the names of those who enter my "buy-me-a-log" program and those who build the ark with me for posterity in two ways: carved into a stone that will remain in the ark and published on my web site. Whether the poles shift or not, the names of those people will go forward into what will become history. I am reminded of a thought I've had on more than one occasion. I've thought that there is a possibility the Ark that Dave Fasold pursued may have been filled with the sediment that created the fossil we see--on purpose. I believe that inside what I speculate is a human-made fossil is buried a stone with the names of the craftsmen who built the ark.

I know that if I am right and the poles shift, then the survivors will also be responsible for leaving a message for the future when all this will happen again. These shifts are so far apart they become forgotten. I think, in time, someone else will be guided to the clues just like me. Just like Noah's Ark did for me, someone will rely on my ark and an "ark-eologist" like Dave Fasold to help them figure out the significance of the anchors, that they are the keys to surviving tsunamis produced during pole shifts. They are evidence of a 'recurring' natural disaster we have the ability to understand and survive.

The way I visualize it happening is, after the ark's voyage is complete, we cannibalise the insides of the boat. We can reuse a lot of the planking and timbers within the structure to create housing, barns and corrals. At some point after a comfort zone is reached, the inside of the ark must be filled with a substance foreign to the geology it sits on, thus creating what will one day be called an anomaly. The anchors will be left exactly where they lie and moving them will be made taboo for future generations so that those who make the connection in the future will know how long the anchor cables should be to survive the next cataclysm. In Turkey, the drogue stones are somewhere around fifteen miles from the remains of Noah's Ark.

The stones with the names of participants will remain in the fossil in case that much proof is needed. In Dave's fossil we'd need to look for a different kind of stone within the stone fossil. Chipping away the fossil stone will reveal whether there is one--an unscathed time capsule. I think anyone who had the wherewithal to survive a recurring cataclysm would also have the know-how to leave a message that would survive many millennia. I believe that somewhere in Dave's fossil lies conclusive evidence. Such a discovery would cinch it for others.

I already know that the man we've come to call Noah survived something pretty dramatic. An anomaly with the exact volume, in the exact place that records from antiquity have confirmed to be the last resting spot of Noah's Ark, and tsunami-surviving anchors are indeed proof to me. It adds up with common sense--the only resistance comes from people who take re-worked doctrine literally (as Dave said, "I challenge anyone to show me a document written prior to the 12th century C.E. stating the Ark is on Ararat"). Dave proved to me that this is the Ark. The locals may argue that they knew it was there first but if they knew it was Noah's Ark, then, for over forty years, they've ignored a multi-million-dollar-a-year tourist attraction. I have to give Dave Fasold the credit for proving to me this anomaly is the remains of Noah's Ark. I can't ignore the synchronicity of all the events in my life, and especially the timing of Dave's anomaly being shaken loose by an earthquake only forty years ago (dare I say, shook loose by the hand of God).

In my opinion, the world is already overpopulated and global warming will reduce the planet's ability to feed us. Even though the increased CO2 levels are a boon to plant growth I think we will see extreme weather that will shift boom to bust. We live in denial of the consequences of our population doubling and re-doubling. Presently we are adding a billion people to our population every thirteen years. To continue on our present course without the intervention of a cataclysmic event is to invite an unprecedented amount of misery for the children of the near future. I view a swift end to a large number of the population as a blessing in disguise as blessings are often viewed--a coup de grace from the collision course with mass starvation toward which we are headed. Although I don't believe a pole shift should be credited to God's anger--it does appeal to my common sense that the timing of this event is omnipotently wise.

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and mention something I ran into during the last hundred or so hours of writing my final draft. In a 1930's reading by Edgar Cayce, Edgar predicted that a man would come and deliver a spiritual message in 1998. Edgar called the man by name--"Jon Peniel" (there is a little controversy because Gladys Davis, Edgar's stenographer wrote down a different phonetic spelling. She understandably used John). Anyway what's in a name? You can read his message in a book called The Children of the Law of One: The Lost Teachings of Atlantis. I read up on the guy on a site at www.atlantis.to. Check it out for yourself, as you should in matters of spiritual concern.

So far I've only read the free chapters on the Internet and every link within the site. After which I raced over to my local women’s book store to continue reading, but this is very new and is entering the world through word of mouth. I was blown away that Edgar Cayce actually named him. Cayce said a cataclysm is due shortly after this guy makes an appearance on the world stage. According to Cayce, the guy is here to help mend our souls before the cataclysm begins. I thought "here's a guy who's here to save souls; and I'm a guy here to save a few bodies."

Oh yes, I did check with the 'A.R.E.' (Cayce's Foundation) to confirm or deny the Web Site's claims. They responded with the excerpt from the Cayce reading where it is recorded that Cayce said the name. It's true! I am absolutely ecstatic that my hypothesis might be further validated as this continues to unfold. I am also somewhat nervous.

I think I've been clear about how the cataclysm is survivable. A long anchor cable attached to a catch-and-release winch on a floating vessel and the right trajectory into the oncoming water is all that is required. I don't think the floating vessel has to be as big as the ark; the size of the ark with its acre or so of deck space simply allows a bigger cargo, a ready made community with enough food to last until a crop can be harvested; plus its monolithic size will eventually be found and serve as a warning in later years. Those who can't afford a boat should remember world flood legends that tell of people going into the mountains to survive. High inland ground as close to the centre of a tectonic plate as possible is probably the safest bet for you.

An invitation to survive is extended to all who believe the possibility of a pole shift exists, those with enough belief to make preparations, even if it's with the attitude of "better safe than sorry." Don't confuse this event with the religious interpretation that this is the wrath of God aimed at bad individuals, and then remember a skeleton in your closet and think God will be aiming directly at you, so why bother to prepare. It is, rather, a natural cycle in the development of our planet. We all have an equal chance to choose our method of survival. It's ironic that the very people who preserved the story of Noah are likely going to be the last people to believe my forecast; therefore if I am right they will be the most likely to perish. I think that this is not a time to follow others; it's a time for opening your mind and listening to your self, your inner connection. Even if you've never connected with it before--when it wants you to know something you will receive the message. Getting past your adopted beliefs and acting on it is another story.

I repeat yet again: "You cannot enclose molten rock within a crust and not have periodic cataclysms." I'm certain the Great Spirit of the Universe is well aware of all that goes on, but its part in this is not a momentary burst of anger. Its part has more to do with creating a life-sustaining planet or welcoming home departed earthly souls who have finally graduated. A life-sustaining planet is miracle enough within this vast expanse of space we call the universe. I think Its part has more to do with a bigger picture, perhaps the quality and giving of life in between cataclysms. Who knows? But I am certain cataclysms are a consequence of living on a life-sustaining planet and demonstrate a wisdom we can't understand from our vantage point.

I'm sure there are many more planets out there that will experience the same kind of development and others that have done so and long since burned out. Life is not unique to the planet Earth. Life-sustaining planets have a limited time before they become too cold for life to exist. Before the time life begins on a planet, the planet is cooling, going through stages on its way to becoming a dead planet. Before a crust is formed, the surface is a bubbling cauldron of molten rock; as time goes on and a crust is formed, there are inevitable break-ups of the thin crust. The periods of time between these break-ups will increase as the crust gets thicker and stronger. But I am thinking, it is not each pole shift that increases in time.

Through my study I am beginning to recognize a pattern, a haphazard pattern like a toppling spinning top. I think the time is increasing but it is the time between the pattern of toppling. I think we get three or four erratically spaced rather quick flips, then a pause. It is the pause I think is growing. Watch a top and you'll see what I mean. This is why a rather quick fifteen thousand year flip is not out of the question. Furthermore, I don't think the crust keeps sliding in the same direction. I think the pole is shifting within a thirty-degree circle although the shape of the shifts appears triangular. For example I would not expect Hudson's Bay to one day be the South Pole, but I would not be surprised if one day it was the North Pole again. The best argument I've heard for not believing in pole shifting is that there are geologic formations that seem to have formed uninterrupted for many thousands of years beyond previous pole shifts. If I'm right about the pole shifting within a thirty-degree circle around Greenland, then there would be thirty-degree circles of geography in the oceans that could continue to form relatively unhampered.

Forces inside the crust are immense and will break free from time to time until the ratio between crust and core becomes balanced in favour of the crust. Presently, our earth's crust is very thin when compared to the distance of the centre of the earth (who to quote on the exact distances and what is solid and what is molten is a guessing game). What is agreed is that the crust is thin. I'd say our present ratio still favours the molten rock. I think a cataclysm is inevitable. Only my timeframe remains a question. Mind you, with the appearance of Jon Peniel and Edgar's forecast that the days from then are short, and Mother Shipton's apparent vision of my merry little band of ark builders repopulating the planet, I am constantly giving added weight to those soft-spoken words, "It will happen in my lifetime and it will play a significant role in my life."

One of my favourite sayings regarding any question pertaining to future outcomes is "time will tell." Never in my lifetime has this saying held a more dramatic meaning. Adopting a wait-and-see attitude without taking action could prove fatal. I am counting on the revenues from this book, T-shirt sales and privately purchased logs, combined with people's labour, to build an ark. If the numbers don't add up to a built ark, some of you will have to make room for me and my boys on the high ground away from all of the red circles on the Canadian Shield. Because I am a firm believer in "better safe than sorry." I hope we, or our descendants meet on the other side of the pole shift. We can 'all' meet again, much later (do you remember what I mean?). Relying on the rapture is putting all your eggs in one basket and the eggs represent your family members.

I realize that the premise of this book is based on speculation and I have said so all along the way. Yet, my intellect can't say, "There is absolutely no way this can happen." My intellect recognizes this theory could be 'an unseen part of our rational reality.' My intellect has been won over, it will not resist. The book is done. Now, I will find out if my deal with the Universe is real or was imaginary. I am very excited to find out.

If you hear that I am building the ark, you can interpret it as a miracle, because as I sit here typing these last words, I'm in hawk well over my head. My work-van is broken down and for me this is the ultimate Catch 22: I need money to fix the van, yet I need the van to make money and my credit is overextended. Trust me, the story gets worse, but I think you get the idea. It seems my attempts to improve my material world existence are being thwarted. At first glance one might consider this to be a jinx. But with the aid of second sight I recognize the possibility that some outside force might be seeing to it that I have a lot of time to sit at the computer. For me to purchase a property and the logs required any time soon will definitely be another source of validation for me. Another little signal that I'm following the right path, that the pole shift is coming soon.

As I near the end of this book, I would like to address a final concern. It pertains to the fragile realities between the ears of those hearing this message. I once watched a talk show where a rather rebellious teenager had heard from somewhere about a fatalistic prophecy and used "the end of the world is near" to justify her antisocial behaviour.

She, like me, was firmly entrenched in the rationality of the spiritless material world reality in which we were raised (and this is different for each individual) where there are, most apparently, only two choices: find a group and go with its flow, or find a group going against the flow. I can testify that "bucking the system" did not produce joy in my heart. Indeed my dissenting decisions were only an intellectual reaction, a free-falling pendulum reaching as far as its fulcrum allowed. There were laughs along the way, but those moments were imitations of joy and fleeting. They did not incorporate my whole being. I conclude that there is no lasting joy for an unbridled intellect; there is only a vast prairie full of rampaging want. I do not recommend "throwing all caution to the wind."

As far as joining a group conscience, we should be aware that if what group members choose to believe is wrong--then no matter how populous the group they are all wrong. This may not be a good time to be a conformist. Then again, after all we've discussed, being a conformist doesn't sound good for us at all. A bridled intellect is akin to slavery of the soul. I do not recommend "repudiating your feelings to avoid the anxiety of breaking free from what is considered rational reality."

I do recommend nurturing your divine individuality. Stop and listen to yourself for a minute. What are you hearing from your spiritual centre? Seriously take a few minutes right now and listen carefully. It's subtle. Incorporate your soul--your spirit--yourself into your life as only 'you' can do. Follow that patient 'positive' passion inside you that is awaiting your intellect's respectful acknowledgement by its enlistment of your self-will to move toward whatever creative urge you've been craving. It'll likely be quite a challenge but so be it; the harder it is the greater the reward. Don't be surprised if the journey doesn't end with the first accomplishment. Understanding leads to wondering. More wondering opens doors to directions. All of these directions are paths for your future. Break free from "more of the same." Tomorrow may not follow the plan of expectations provided by popular belief.

For the next little while, borrow the new perspective I have given you; keep your eyes wide open and listen when knowledge rings true for you. If I am right, there will be signs speaking directly to that 'part of us.' I think we are being tested. I think those who enlist self-will to follow inner guidance will pass. Whether there is a pole shift or not, we as a species need to evolve and learn to honor our whole being. The intellect manufactures stress, the spirit seeks joy. I'm pretty sure we need both in this world (like I've always said, "If it wasn't for the bad times, how would we know when we had it good?") but our balance is way off. We need to listen to our spirits. We can exercise listening to our spirits by following those paths that touchés our souls and bring tears of joy to our eyes.
