Character a Day Challenge - Candle

I've started a new project based on some ideas rattling around in my brain, basically to use the onsite wardrobe function of Subeta to create new characters and worlds to help relieve some of the creativity that's been building up in my head and encourage my own creativity as well :)

Family: Parents and two younger twin sisters.

History: Issac was not born into a magic family, in fact there are no written records of his lineage containing magic anywhere along the line. It is possible that magic entered somewhere before the written records, but for such a gift to remain hidden for the thousands of years such records go is almost unheard of. When Issac was born it raised some questions as to how such a thing could have happened, and the possibility that the records had been covered up for some reason.

That created its own set of challenges. Without any official records of magic in the family Issac was not eligible to enter any of the magic schools to relieve training for his powers, which was a dangerous thing in and of itself. Witches who can't control their powers are often killed because of the destruction they cause, or they end up killing themselves as their powers spiral out of control. This was the worry Issac's family had for him, that he would gain power and go mad without knowing the proper ways to control it.

Without any other recourse, they locked him away and gave him only a few candles by which to light the darkened room. So Issac's powers manifested in flames, and in summoning and controlling the sources of illumination in the space. After almost two decades of imprisonment Issac escaped, but he found the outside world to be harsh; his skin was too sensitive to sunlight to allow him to walk in the daytime hours, and as his family feared many people did not understand his powers and shunned him.

Issac was on his own, but he managed. He found an old plant nursery long abandoned and overrun and made it his home, sleeping in the dark of plant nests during the day and moving about at night. It allowed him to grow his own food, collect rain water as a clean source, and have a general way of surviving. He's completely alone, having never obtained a familiar either, and he is not able to speak or communicate because he never learned how. It is a solitary, and lonely, life but it's all he has and all he knows.
