I would add that before selecting tags, look on the list of tags by clicking on the "explore" link in the Steemit menu, and try to use those tags if possible. The first tag you list should be the one most relevant to your topic. Practice using Markdown to format nicely. The link for the instructions is right above the post preview box. Experiment and learn!
