Hello steemians, today I was opportune visit the cocaine village. Actually it's a slum area,its located at 6th avenue, festac town, Lagos. I was really touched by the sight that beheld me. The kids there where all running around in the swamp and heaps of dirt partially naked and the young boys sat in different groups, smoking and sniffing substances.
It was really terrible to see the type of water these kids drink. The air there is so sickening. I actually vomited and it attracted some kids to where I was and one said to me while offering me a bottle or some yellowish liquid saying "aunty take this wan clean mouth", honestly I was irritated by the water he offered but I was moved by the act of kindness he showed to me.
I ransacked through my pocket and pulled out a little bag of candy which I gathered them in a group of 11 that includes 7boys and 4girls. All within the age range of 2-12 years old. Though the rest stood off watching from afar, including the adults. I talked with them (the kids I gathered) and also spent some time too and I was about leaving when Ayo which I was opportune to take a picture along side with a few a others. Because they asked me not to take any pictures. So I took them to a nearby food vendor, they all queued and had a plate of rice of #150naira and a piece of meat with sachet water. Honestly, I didn't even expect I'd be spending almost 8000naira but I'm glad I did it for these kids and they were happy.
Now they are anticipating to see me next weekend, I need every steemian that comes across this post to please upvote and resteem
