I'm excited to announce our first blockchain project: givewithnothing.org
The charity world is vital for certain communities to survive, however it is facing two major problems: the relative growth of charitable giving compared to GDP is “stuck” at 2% (no growth) and the lack of trust towards charity organizations in general.
givewithnothing.org wants to play a key role in solving both problems by using blockchain technology. Making charity giving transparent and traceable will bring back trust and will, in return, increase charity giving.
Adding new dimensions to the conventional (fiat) monetary charity funding, like giving without actually spending money (mining) together with the gamification element and increased fun part that goes with it, will also increase charity flows.
Both innovative visions can be transformed into reality by the founders of givewithnothing.org and will create a revival of charity giving in a trusted way.
If you're interested in the project as charity organization or as advisor, please let me know.
This is a great idea! Giving to charities is so important but it is difficult to know which ones are good and which ones have huge overhead or don’t truly live up to their mission statement. Volunteering your time with an organization is a great way to see its inner workings but people do not always have time for that and therefore are stuck, likely choosing not to give. You idea would be great to bring clarity to charities. Keep up the good work!

It's definitely difficult to find which charities are truly using donations properly. Our goal is to make charities transparent by leveraging smart contracts. Money would be released in steps after contractual obligations (proof of spending) are met. Please take a look on the whitepaper for more information. Thank you for your comment.
