Help is Still Greatly Needed for the Orang Asli (Aboriginals) Community

in charity •  7 years ago

Hello world!

First of all, we thank you all who has supported with upvotes for our previous post regarding the needs of our aboriginal community in Daily Bread Food Bank Assist Orang Asli Outreach , especially for @sndbox-alpha and @elizacheng who has nominated our post during their special campaign.

Today we continue to update the situation in the inland of the Titiwangsa mountains.

If you have noticed, the inland roads looked really muddy, that is because there have been massive thunderstorms in Malaysia and the monsoon likeness of weather has been pouring the peninsular Malaysia.

Nevertheless, the outreach team still managed to send essential goods to the inland aboriginal people, the Orang Asli, and you can see that young and old all came to collect the goods.

Even children came with school bags just to be able to help carry the load, and the 2nd hand clothes that were collected and donated to them arrived to the kids in bags, including the shoes.

However if you see in this picture, you can still notice that many still do not have proper shoe to wear. And with the constant rain, the roads are muddy and if hygiene is not well kept there could be more complications in the future.

Despite of lack of shoes for the children, we received a generous donation from someone (who wished not to be named) and we managed to get some seeds for the aboriginals so that they can start planting more vegetables for self-sustaining or even sell or exchange with the food bank for other food in the future.

There is a quote...

Give a man a fish, and he will be hungry again to-morrow; teach him to catch a fish, and he will be richer all his life.
(unknown exact author)

We can do whatever we can to help them to be self-sustainable, in the mean time, any help by donations (old shoes, good conditioned clothes, school bags, books, stationaries, monetary) or even upvotes are greatly welcome as we try to gather enough for an exchange for MYR to get the necessary items for these under privileged families.

We are truly grateful that we have so many resources from all over, including the Steemit community to help keep our work going.

For #upfundme criteria (?)

Our target is to get at least first MYR 1000 worth of SBD cashed out for Food Bank use, and another MYR 1000 worth of Steem Power to help upvote other charity programs in Steemit in the future. It's a slow process as we don't have enough time to post here all the time, but we will do our best to keep everyone updated with our progress!

Wish you have the amount of SBD / RM1k in no time. Love the quote, heard it somewhere as well but couldnt tell from where. Great idea to give them seeds for future supply.

We are very blessed that help is coming in, and the first RM1 K is just for initial stage. We are hoping by the help of others and also motivating them to be self sustainable, they will be able to one day give back to the community and help others to work their way out of poverty.

Thank you for stopping by

Good initiative undertaken by the Food Bank to reach the unreached. Upvoted and Resteem

Just seen this... Wish my 100% vote was more but hopefully the price goes up before payout of this post... Good luck on all future endeavours!

It is still a long way to go but we hope with perseverance we will reach the RM1000 mark in no time.
