We will serve a hot meal to the Homeless in Tulsa this Sunday, wish us luck!

Yo habla espanyol solemente un muy pokito.

I was cooking a roaster of Spanish Rice and refried beans; along with an armload of tacos and supplies for Cheeseburgers, toasted cheese sandwiches, and fried egg sandwiches (by requests). We also had two different chilli roasters, nachos, baked potatoes for the chilli. Also the regular: au gratin potatoes, Mac and cheese, and spaghetti.

We served 360 homeless today. The most we have ever had show up. We had enough food, but we kept the grill running for two and a half hours. We served 100+ burgers, 250 cheese sandwiches, and about a hundred fried egg sandwiches. It was insane, but we got through it, LOL!

sir smithlabs! wow that is remarkable. What an operation and what an effort. And you had alot of food left over to take to the Denver House?

Not this time, we really had a LOT of people show up today. We took them stuff yesterday, but we were hoping to feed them Monday too.

BUT We fed everyone all they wanted!

sir smithlabs! you were hoping to feed more at the Denver House on Monday?

Yes, we feed there every time we find extra food. We feed there every Saturday with left overs from Church. Sometimes I think the Church makes extra food just so we will have a lot of extra food for the Denver House.

After we feed this meal, if we have some left, we take it to the Denver House also. They do Good work, and needs all the support they can get.

yeah yeah yeah they're a bunch of saints over there...but what do you mean "We feed there every Saturday with left overs from Church."
I thought you only took food to the Denver House after you had your big monthly feeding?
Are you trying to confuse me again? that's not nice ya know.

We feed about 50 homeless weekly at the Denver House. This is separate from the monthly homeless meal, and is mostly leftovers. When we are short, we make pancakes or sandwiches. The Denver House has no budget for food, so we try to help.

They are doing good work, at the level of people who are at the highest risk, usually the people that the other shelters will not take.

Last year, the Lady that tallies the head count said we fed out 6,953 homeless meals total. Thankfully a lot of that food was donated!

sir smithlabs! this is about as clear as mud. If you feed the homeless at the Denver House from leftovers from your monthly feeding then how can you feed them every week at the Denver House? Your monthly feeding leftovers are a month's worth of food?

The food for the weekly feedings come from left over food from church. We eat Breakfast and lunch every Saturday at Church. I take what is left to the Denver House Saturday afternoons.

The Monthly feeding provides left overs sometimes, and we feed those leftovers the following Monday; at the Denver House.
