Yes, you read that title right! The price to become a "Minnow" on the Steem Blockchain is only around $160 on April 26th, 2019. 📆
If you are not a "Minnow", you may have some problems. 🤷♂️
There should be no excuses why every single person on the Steem Blockchain can't be a Minnow at the very least.
Yeah, Yeah, Yeah... I can just hear all the excuses coming in right now!
"Charles, I don't have the money"
"Charles, I plan to invest later"
"Charles, what if the price goes lower"
"Charles, I rather earn Steem than buy"
etc... etc... etc... What ever it is, I heard them all... bunch of excuses. 🤦
I'm not here to preach to you all but "Excuses" are just "Excuses". Everyone has them and that is one of the main reasons why most people fail in life.
You see, when I joined the Steem Blockchain on May 2017...
I didn't just come on Steem to make excuses and complain like getting no upvotes, the website sucks, only whales vote for each other, blah blah blah.
I wanted to invest in the project, become an active member, be part of the community, meet new people, and share/document my life to people who wanted to see.
When doing anything, you must invest (in yourself or projects)... in other words, have some damn "Skin in The Game" if you want some success. 🤑
Yeah, some might think it's risky but were just talking about $160 to become a "Minnow" (that's it)!
Fuck, I remember buying thousands of steem at over $1 when I joined and it didn't do shit for 6 months until the bull run of December 2017.
Did I lose money? Hell No! I made and earned so much Steem that I took tons of profits when Steem went to $3-$7 last year.
Now I see the same thing happening again... Steem is around .33 as I write this. Can Steem go lower?
Fuck yeah it can, but guess what? Steem can go to over $1 easily in couple of months or even higher when the next bull run starts in 2020!
Alright enough of my little rant... What I'm trying to say is that if you want to be successful on Steem, make at least a damn effort and become a minnow.
Start investing in yourself and grow with Steem, you will not regret it.
Oh yeah, this isn't financial advice! If you lose it all, you should blame yourself for reading some random dude like myself on the internet! 🤣
With that being said, everyone that's not a minnow should become one right now for $160! If you don't have the Money, then WTF are you doing here for hours everyday wasting your time?
Go find a way to make $160! Shit, if I didn't have $160 right now, I would find a way.
I would be doing some odd jobs for couple of days and make that money to invest instead of wasting time and complaining on Steemit for months getting nothing done.

Lotta whining and moaning and "I quits" with altcoin swoon of the last 24 hours. Someone might have to lay off of Starbucks for a month to become a minnow. And would just be too big of a sacrifice. Heck add another $1300 and you are most the way to dolphin. Can't beat that.

I stop working because I became a stay-at-home-mom ever since my son has CDH health issue when born. Steem gives me hope again.
So I work hard, blogging here, connect with people like crazy in the early stage, joining contest, etc, curate curate nonstop. And with the SBD earned, I bought Steem to power up. Does that count? Lol...I am not sure. Haha. 😁
Keep some Steem too for rainy days in case son needs emergency whatsoever. That is not the main point. Main point, Steem gives me hope again. Used to feel stucked at home but now I can connect with people globally. Glad to know you too.
Here I learn about crypto and blockchain. Steem is my first crypto. 😂

I'm cruising along as a part-time Steemian and I took advantage of great Steem/Dogecoin ratio to Block trade a few tranches of Dogecoin for Steem to become a Minnow Because I was tired up-voting dust. Didn't have to spend a cent as I accumulated the Dogecoin free via faucets a few years prior.

For me it's better that I earn my way to being a minnow. I feel it's so much worth it to become a minnow by earning it. Yes we can buy our way into being a minnow but it never crossed my mind to ever do that. 😄
Perhaps I like to do things the hard way? I dunno. There are things I prefer to go the easy route but this seems to not be one of them. 😊

160 USD. Not that much, but too much for the average user to invest. I've been talking about the "average" user on STEEM for a long, long period of time...
The "average" users on STEEM, are the same people who're using Fakebook and Twatter. They use STEEM because they have a chance to earn money for the same content they share elsewhere.
They don't want to invest. You could sell 500 Steem for $10, and most of these "average" users would still decline the offer.
Honestly, I don't think the problem is the amount of money. The problem is the investment. People come here to earn money, not to spend it. That, and all this tech-talk going around are two of the main reasons for STEEM to be more or less stagnant. At least according to me.
You can't aim for massadoption when you're targeting these anarchist, anti-government types of people who lives in basement somewhere. You need to lay out information in a way so average people understand. And you need to promote STEEM the same way.
We have like 43 different leagues, support- and minnow-making projects out there for people who doesn't want to invest money, including my own Minnow-ASAP project. Most people ignores that too. People even ignores the chance to get free Steem just by answering 3 simple questions...
People in general suck, because they expects the world for nothing. When they realize that they missed a good opportunity though, they bitch and moan about it. On top of that, we have the other excuses:
I can personally relate to that one. I am not rich by any means and I would rather buy 500 STEEM for $50 than $100. But, if I don't buy at $100, and the price continues to decline...
I would continue to wait for "that perfect time" to strike... And suddenly, it's too late because the value goes up again and I can go back to my "roots" and complain again.

I seen it all the time for being an entrepreneur for over 20 years. They all want to make money while most don’t invest in themselves or the business itself. They want it handed to them which is a shame.
I’m always working On stuff. There so many things getting created on the blockchain but as for Steem, it’s a social media platform for me to document my Interest and a little small portion of my investment. 🤷🏼♂️😂

I just became a minnow a couple of days ago. It wasn’t because I was posting and upvoting. It was from buy a little bit of steem at a time. I can’t imagine how long it would take to break out of minnow if I don’t buy steem.

Well, you don't need to invest anything at all to become a minnow. You just need to post consistently. I was a red fish for a while and hit Minnow by growing organically. No money needed. Just time and dedication.

Here's the thing though:
You joined in December 2017...
The price was between $2.94 and $8.43 in January 2018.

This is one of the major problems with STEEM and the users actually. People wait... But what are you waiting for? - You've literally had a discount ever since January 2018, so what are people waiting for?

But seriously, from $8.43 to ~$0.35, and people still wait. I just can't understand it. It doesn't make sense at all.

I did not buy it then for the same reason I barely bought any now, DPOS is so far down the rabbit hole of crypto. POW is maintained by machines, POS is maintained by machines, DPOS is maintained by 20 "witnesses" and the users that vote for those witnesses. Also I do not see Steem users operating in the manner described in the white paper. Users seem to have not read it. That is why I Discount Steem.

I didn't have the money, I didn't work, and I couldn't ask for help... But when I was look all this words what come my head also in first day when I was come here .... I was start think ... Hey I make this value, no one else. When you understand this, you can create this great value without any kind of paper money... you are 100 times above many users who have here 10 K or 20K , because this understanding is invaluable.
I make photos and I try every day, it is not easy to get every day good photos.... sometimes it can take weeks when you start feel that now come more cool photos. But as long as I try every day, everything is possible and then I get these pictures anyway.
It all depends on you, think why governments and large corporations are trying to control every piece of information with you get.... they know.. all the empires depend on us.

I'm new to the world of cryptocurrency, new to Steem, and new to Partiko... You seem to be fairly well versed in all three of these... As a newbie, where would you recommend I go and/or what would you recommend I read in order to get a better understanding of all of these?
I get the basics of cryptocurrency, and have a good foundational understanding of the subject... I get what Steem is, and love the concept; I don't, however, have a good understanding of the inner workings of Steem or any investment strategies... Partiko, I really don't understand at all... I seen something about "voting power", for example... What is that?
Any advice you can give is much appreciated!
