A few days ago, Coinbase announced that they were exploring the idea of adding several Cryptocurrencies like Cardano, Basic Attention Token, Stellar Lumens, Zcash, and 0x to it's platform.
Can Steem get listed on Coinbase? Do you guys think it can happen? If so, it's not going to get there all by itself and we as a community can step up and make it happen.
So what can we do as a community to help get Steem listed on Coinbase? Simple, We talk about Steem to the masses...

The more we get people's attention... the easier it would be for coinbase or even other exchanges to adopt the "Steem Cryptocurrency" on their platform. 📊
The Steem Blockchain has one of the most powerful "Communities" in the "Crypto Space" with over 1 Million Accounts and any task should come easy to us if we really want something to happen.
Let's not even get into transactions... Steem have demonstrated to be one of the top "Crypto's" in this area according to Blocktivity.

I would have to disagree, remember Satoshis white paper...

Many people tend to forget the importance of Peer-to-peer but I do understand that coinbase is the fastest and most convinent way to acquire crypto.
I just want to emphasize that if you don't have to use a third party financial institution (like Coinbase) then DONT. If you can buy BTC, BCH or LTC from a friend or someone you trust with cash then that would be the ideal thing to do. Just my opinion.

I was looking for the next utility coin after zrx and bat and there is pretty slim pickings there. Most of the top coins are platforms or currency. Steem augur are some of the best non platform non currency coins out there. It could easily be in the next batch:

I think it is a good initiative and I would think it would be funny if we got a hold of an e-mail address and all wrote to them as well. All things said it seems like they are taking a somewhat weird approach in my mind because instead of just adding popular stuff that has volume they are being picky and choosy and almost trying to be this over lord to crypto.
I have had a Coinbase account since 2013 and overall things have been fine but maybe forgetting about Coinbase and focusing on Kraken, Gemini, and Uphold is a better strategy for us.
Also on top of that Steemit INC pretty much has the money to get us on the big dog exchanges and doesn't. I'm sure if they threw $10 Million dollars at Kraken we could be on there.

the two walls that i see with coinbase adding steem are... the wallet, steem's wallet is not really an easy thing to work with from what i've heard, and that, every 3 years, if i'm not mistaken,steem's supply split to one third or something like this, during this time steem trading has to be stopped for a few moments. Besides these two "walls" that can be very easily worked around by getting a steem expert on the team, i see no problem why steem wouldn't be on coinbase

I have sent many detailed mails about steem to Indian exchanges and their reply is highly positive but first we have to get it listed on International exchanges, then it will be easier for local exchanges to recognize it.

Hi there @stackin. Just two days ago, this was the topic that we are talking about over @surpassinggoogle 's steemgigs discord chat. Terry does a talk show every Saturday at 2400 (GMT+8). Last Saturday, we talk about bringing STEEM to the moon and one of mentions is bring STEEM to all exchanges. I personally beleive that "access means demand". And demand means to the moon.
As a share holders of Steemit like you, though I only have a smaller part, It is true that it is our role to introduce STEEM to everyone. I even write a post about it.

I was reading about this topic yesterday about the positives and the negatives of having Steem on Coinbase exchange. I've come to my conclusion of what I think is best for both Coinbase as well as Steem.
There are good things that could come of coinbase adding steem to it's exchange. So much more publicity and users will make their way to steem. The value of steem would skyrocket within time because it'll be much easier for people to acquire steem. With the upcoming SMT's coming, that will change the price even more going up (hopefully).
However on the other hand, having steem on coinbase could cause some problems. We all know that Steem is STILL in beta. Steem, ever since it was created has been in beta stage. That means it's not a finished product yet. Having a massive flood of users joining Steem expecting it work great may disappoint some. There's problems that will occur from time to time in the development of steem.
That's just my two words of my opinion. Honestly, I do not want Coinbase to add Steem. Not just yet, I think it's too early.
